Of course this is a bit less refined than Reserva Exclusiva, but it also contains much less sugar - 8g/l. Nose is sweet, caramel, butter, coffee, taste is smooth with spices, wood, quite less sweet than Rerserva Exclusiva and is also less complex. The aftertaste is caramel and coffee. Not bad at all, actually I tend to buy Mantuano more often than Reserva Exclusiva, as the Mantuano price is significantly lower and the amount of sugar is much lower.

Not so much to write about this one, because its boring. Weak taste of vanilla and orange peel. It drowned in cocktails, i could not really sense the rum. Tried it neat, but was still weak in taste and smell. I ended up using it in cocktails blended with Cross and Smith overproof. Then it worked out quite well. But I still think it is overpriced.

A light oaky flavor and little afterburn. Preferred it straight over mixed. Price point of under $25 USD gave it a rating boost.

If you are on a budget this is a great bottle. Still retains the main flavors of the bigger brother but it's a bit more consrvative and a bit younger. With that said I still recommend it.

Not worth it's price. Costs twice as Abuelo, tastes same. Strong barrel aroma at the beginning, nothing at the end.

A very round sweet rum that has good flavor. Good to both mix and drink straight. After tasting it later it isnt my favorite thats why ill drop it. This was my first real expensive rum and I liked it.

Really quite like this since it's semi-dry/sweet unlike many of its siblings which allows fore finer nuances to shine through.

Vanilla, cacao, fudge, dried fruits and some tight oaky notes.

Diplomatico levererar igen...

Fin liten flaska.
Rätt nyans.
Aromen finns där och smaken lika så samt att smaken hänger kvar.
En riktigt bra rom mao. kan varmt rekommendera den.

It took me some time to decide how to rate this Diplomatico or Botucal (name it as you want). It sweet, there's some vanilia, carmel. Both in aroma and taste, but quite flat or subtle - to be honest I really don't know. There's a little bit of wood in the smell... But that's it. Nothing special, nothing unusual. For this price (20€) I would say: acceptable

Wouldn't be suprised if there was some added sugar here, but it's not too much if they do. Easy sipper and a good price point for what it is.

I would rate this on par with Diplomatico, (green bottle). But they are apples and oranges. When is much more strong masculine flavor while the other is a more fruity tropical version.
