Diplomatico Mantuano

I got the small 35cl bottle from my son as a birthday present and the first glass didn’t felt any special. But the next time I tried it I could really appreciate the great taste. For a Diplomatico it’s definitely a keeper in the rum stack.

Nuanced, spicy taste with barrel character and a little sweetness, hints of orange peel, light chocolate, arrack, herbs, sultanas, nougat and brown sugar.

Bottle: 350ml
Alcohol: 40%
Sugar content: 8g/l

This is an excellent rum, especially for the price. Slightly less sweet than the Reserva Exclusiva (green bottle) but with a similar flavor profile. This can stand on its own as a neat sipper. It’s only downfall is that its big brother is only $5 more so I usually just buy that one.

Jedná se o mladšího brášku Diplomatica Reserva Exclusiva, ale chuťově je mu dost podobný. Trošičku ostřejší, sladkého charakteru, ale méně komplexní, ale to vůbec nevadí. Oba tyto rumy mám rád. Můžu ho doporučit každému.

Great mixing rum. Nice fruit flavors including orange. Makes for a great lamb roast glaze.

I like the smell Bananas Vanilla and spice. A little light on the mouth feel but finishes well. Good sipping for the price.

Nice spicy rum which can be used perfectly pure as in a mix. I drunk it pure and that was nice.

Mladší bratr Reservy, slušný poměr cena/výkon. Dělá čest rodině, ideální pro nenáročnou společnost.

rum for every occasion, more mundane, but a safe bet

Good rum, only had a taster. Nothing against it but not one I really will be searching for neither.

Not nearly as smooth as the reserva exclusava but still has the sweetness that most Diplamatico rums are known for. I enjoyed best with a splash of cola.
