It's not as great as some others I tried. It is a bit hard and rough on your nose - you can smell the alcohol and it sweet, but no so sweet as you'll expect from this price range. The amount of extra sugar is decent? I'd say. Less than a lot. Plus it's much better than any other commercial stuff and cost just slightly more. You'll will have a great sensation in your mouth if you are used to cheap stuff. And you'll get addicted. Eventually. It'll become a passion. Highly recommending for its price/quality value (;
Job well done senor Master blender! (;

I would hav to agree with other reviews in that it is not as sweet an a bit harsher the the Reserva
but this Mantuano is a grand mixer and a bottle that will be and can be enjoyed by all who pop the cork

This rum works very well and slots into the home bar nicely. First and foremost I like this rum with an ice cube in a lowball glass, but make no mistake this is a supercall tasting mixer! Warm, stout fruit flavors and a little tobacco on the nose. Boozier smelling and tasting than the reserva but less markedly sweet. There are nights this is preferable to me if the mood is right. Overall it is a testament to quality rum making from Diplomatico.
Pretty good, vanilla flavor, some sweetness, but a bit sharp
Very decent nose, a little spicy but not much. Good taste with hints of vanilla. It was great with a mango and passion fruit chocolate with touch of pepper.

This is a tasty rum in the line of the Havana club flavour profile with quite a bit of toffee caramel. I dont get the vanilla or oakyness a few others have mentioned online. It does say its a rum aged up to 8 years, I would say that it is mostly around 2-4 years. If you took the Havana Club 7 year and cut this with some younger Rums this would be close. Nice drop but Id take the Havana first especially with the price difference. Quite unlike the Anjeo which has more vanilla & oak and more a Bajan rum

Helt ok, lite för torr och mindre söt än reserva exclusiva vilket inte är någon nackdel.
It’s sweet with scents of brazil nuts and some butteryness like shortbread. .
"Overall it is a sweet rum. There is a little spice on the palate and a tiny slither of oak. The finish has a little coffee and a touch of caramel. It is smooth and very easy to drink."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
