Enjoyed a bottle of Bonpland 21y Caroni Trinidad Rum while in London. Packaging, label and bottle design are spectacular. Very high end. Ridiculously expensive at GBP 250 a bottle. Exotic fruits to the nose and palate. Very dry for a rum hailing from Trinidad. Mediocre at best and way over priced for what it really is. Definitely some burn at the end.
Maybe my tastebuds ser just not ready for this Linda rum, but i had a hard time getting this one down at the rumtasting.
Beautiful light copper color with fruity notes. What is interesting about this caroni which does not release the classic aromas of tar. On the palate, there are notes of exotic fruits like pineapple and banana. At the end of the mouth, we pass on spicy notes with black pepper. This rum is very different from the usual caroni but the basic markers are present. Great job, excellent rum.
