The Plantation Trinidad 2003 comes in a traditional Plantation bottle with the ribbons around it (picture).

This is a nice price worthy rum that you can drink neat aswell as doing cocktails and drinks with the Plantation Trinidad 2003 as base.

On the nose you get some alcohol and a fresh fruit with a little bit of vanilla and maybe also a hint of Bourbon from the casks. This rum smells a bit different from other rums I have tasted. Not so much sweetness in the aroma.

In mouth you get fruit, spices and oak. Some sweetness but not very sweet. This rum is smooth in the throat. The aftertaste is intense with lots of spices and oak. The aftertaste is not the best for me.

Not one of the best rums but it is a nice rum compared to other rums in the price range.

Probably need to rate this again at some point, because I am at the end of a cold. I think my smell and taste might be hidden a bit, but this is a very nice rum, aged in Bourbon casks in Trinidad and then shipped to France where it is then further matured in Cognac barrels as a lot of Plantation rum is.

Plantation have become a bit of my favorite brand but this was a bit of a let down. There is nothing wrong with this rum but there is also nothing great with it, the only thing that comes in mind when I think of it is average. Not bad but not good.

My Trinidad was 2008 edition but I suppose it the same. Looking very good - the net, the bottle, the box, the labels and so on. They claim it is the ten years old rum tropical agening with one year of continental one. But I can't to recognize it. It was pretty hard to specify it as 10 years rum but it sill drinkable ))

First Plantation rum in my life, I think this could be a solid 7 if it didn't bore me so much. The rum is nice, the smell is a little bit alcoholic but in the mouth it explodes with a lot of fruits. And that is the reason is why I gave it a 6: the fruity taste is too much sweet and it bore a little bit. I also suspect some sugar has been added, but I don't have proof. In the end it's a well done rum, better than a lot of crappy rums, but again not too much fan of this fruity thing, also too much sugar. Not convinced

As said by others with more talent than me “ Pineapple chunks, golden syrup and grassy sugar cane. Clove and cardamom spice“

Too much taste of alcohol, there are some vanilla, lemon and other flavours. But I will not look for another bottle.

I wish the company would stop sweetening these products, and also no more cogmac casks please! Enough is enough. The treatment takes away all personality of the rums. Disappointing.

Not bad, but it's lacking character.
It was one of the samples in my Plantation tasting box and it will always be just that.

Reminds you of a lot of fruit, great solo, but I want it all over a rum cake.

A mile away from my usual type of rum, this light floral number is excellent.

This rum has a medium high quality level. It os not very much dry, the smell remember something related to timber and wood. Very soft taste. Amber and light yellow coloured.
You can taste it with orange and cocholate and raw sugar.

It’s quite good. I really don’t have something bad to say about it.
But I think Plantation (and also some others) is a little bit dull. I mean if I for example want a rum from Trinidad or Jamaica on my shelf I buy a rum from the original distillery.

The first aroma leads you to think this would be thin and boozy but the taste is thick, round, smooth and sweet. Vanilla and notes of pineapple. Very thick mouthfeel.

12 year double aged. Having tried most of the Plantation line up with little disappointment I bought a bottle of this. For a 12 year aged rum it has the flavor and smoothness not found in a rum in this price range. It’s sweet, not dry just the way I like it. Great!!
