Now this is some good stuff
N- Very bright, penetrating rich without being too thick with light and airy fragrant of fruits and spices, concentrated fig, hawthorn, salted plum and assam boi, solid cinnamon and vanilla backing, Not often good but exceptional soapy and solvent scents on this one that leads you to cherry, peter heering citrus-y sharpness. A top stuff with alluring rubbery notes and subtle heats that added much need depth to the already brilliant aroma. (23/25)
P- Lush of delicious assam boi and cinnamon with amicable dryness, chinese herb oilments as well whiff of charming cherry again. Elegant and superbly spicy with well penetrating strength that hold up all the flavours so well. Ginger and cardamon arriving late with charred notes, slightly dented with touch of plain cardboard, but no matter. (23/25)
F- Marathon finish, cool mint, full fresh and dried fruits, full spice and full strength that just melt in your mouth. (23/25)
Balanced:- Sublime and brilliance. A dram that melt your heart and make you smiles broadly. (24/25)
Weighted Rate:- 93pt
Strong petroleum and bubble gum aroma in the beginning. Cherry liqueur, plum, banana and flavour of Choya (sour plum wine) starts kicking in after breathing.
Slightly woody and earthy with cherry schnapps flavour on palate. Somehow it's like sweet cherry blossom and minty. Not as funky as other Jamaican rum.
Pleasant and long finishing with cherry aroma. Would consider it slightly dry and balance tartness.
Enjoyed a bottle of Hampden 6y 2010 Edition Habitation Velier with my friend during a vacation. Unique bottle and label design. Light golden color. Jamaican funk, plenty of exotic fruits mixed with oak to the nose and palate when neat sipped. Long and dry burn at the end. Funk rum lovers can add 2 points to my score.
Bottled for the 60 year anniversary for La Maison Du Whisky, from Paris, this Fantastic rum just knocks you over. The 60% alcohol is in no way overpowering, it is just insanely flavorful, and packs a punch. The nose is unlike any other Rum i have had. The nose reminded me of weird fruity licorice bubblegum, that I used to like as a kid. This is a very different taste of Jamaican rum, that any other Jamaican rum I have tried. If you can get a hand on this, don't hesitate to buy it.
"Each mouthfeel is awash with brash fruity flavours – Papaya, red grapes, raisins, banana and even a hint of gooseberry."
