Gosling's Black Seal rum

Gosling's Black Seal

Bermuda | Dark | 40% ABV

The James Gosling family business first produced Gosling Black Seal rum in 1806, and it is now the oldest surviving business on the island of Burmuda.

Gosling 'Black Seal' rum received it's name from the black wax originally used to seal the bottles. It is Bermuda's most widely exported product and considered the nation's national drink.

I just buy it for that and it does the job for my go to easy drink. Burning, bit harsh on its own.

Introduced to me by my bro-n-law, this was the first rum I had after the dark times (first marriage). Not bad neat, but a better mixer. This is one of my standard goto rums (along with Mount Gay Eclipse, Appleton's Estate/Signature, & Brugal Anejo).

This is a nice rum but strictly for mixing since as a sipper it really doesn't offer anything but a fairly basic taste profile.

Found it had a weird taste, not something I like. Luckily I tried it at a bar and not stuck with a bottle

Everywhere else you'll be asking yourself "how much did I spend on this shit?" Unless you're on the island or on a cruise to the island, don't bother.

I tried this at a friend's house on a hot day. He put ice in my glass before I had time to ask him for it "neat"! I sipped it as the ice melted and found that I rather liked it.

Interesting flavor. And good for the price, bit I was not in love with it

Sipped this one neat. First impression is good, but after a while I wanted another rum. Might be good in cocktails.

Krasne barevny s prijemnou vuni krasne nalaka. Po ochutnani je trosku stiplavejsi. Mozna bude prijemnejsi po dvou a vice sklenickach. Nevadi ale dalsi lahev asi nekoupim.

Always had this with gingerbeer. Recently, tried this straight and was surprised. I was hoping for a more molasses taste Found it sugary and strange. Still good with Ginger Beer. Only.
