Gosling's Black Seal rum

Gosling's Black Seal

Bermuda | Dark | 40% ABV

The James Gosling family business first produced Gosling Black Seal rum in 1806, and it is now the oldest surviving business on the island of Burmuda.

Gosling 'Black Seal' rum received it's name from the black wax originally used to seal the bottles. It is Bermuda's most widely exported product and considered the nation's national drink.

I just buy it for that and it does the job for my go to easy drink. Burning, bit harsh on its own.

With Goslings Giner Beer THE Rum to Go. With more spicy Gingers try Pussers Blue Label. Dark and sweet. Quote ok for sipping. But Kind of Strange Taste and nose. Can not Point my Finger on it. Old fruits?

What would a Dark & Stormy be without Gosling's Black Seal? Is it a complex aged sipper? No, but it's a sold respectable dark mixer, miles ahead of Meyers.

Smooth, a little heavy and full bodied...this is the rum to make the dark and stormy or a swizzle...I always make sure we have it on hand for friends.

Back to back bottles of Kraken (formerly my favorite) and then Goslings. Kraken is good on the rocks but heavier in retrospect. Gosling's is about the same price and much smoother, more refined.

If you like thick full bodied rum, this is solid. Heavy molasses feel and taste. Phenomenal when used to make chocolate

Tasty mixed with coke, nothing special, but not bad either.

This is a great dark rum. Mix Gosling's Dark Seal with ginger beer and ice and you have a perfect dark and stormy.
CHEERS!

I have been drinking run for 35 years, but am somewhat of a newbie..Until recently, I thought Lambs White or Bacardi white mixed with coke or fruit juice was as good as it gets. One day, I had the urge to buy something different, and came across this in a small town liquor store. It opened my eyes to what rum might be, and I have tried a two dozen or more other rums since. After trying some the others, I can say with some conviction that this is one of my favorites. Dark, smooth, great on the rocks or straight up. Great price too. I tried a dark and stormy, but think it best on its own. This is a rum I will probably always keep in the back of my cabinet as I explore others.

Riche en arôme. Couleur virant à l'acajou. Fruité, épicé. Long en bouche. Parfait pour réaliser cocktail et old fashioned.

I enjoy black rums, this one sets the standard for a dark and stormy. Other than that, it falls a bit short. Still an alright bottle but, not my choice of flavours. Also pairs well floated on a pina colada if you want something different.
