Visited Martinique and went to the La Favorite distillery tour. What an amazing self guided experience followed by an open tasting bar. Bought a bottle of Rhum Riviere Bel Air 2018 from the distillery for EUR 17. Nice bottle and label design. Typical dry Rhum Agricole flavors alongside grass, fruits, funk and floral notes to the nose and palate followed by a strong burn being so dry. Rhum Agricole fan boys can add 2 points to my score.

On the nose this rum is quite intense with floral notes but also soily. This rum has a taste of soil that I appreciate moderately then come spicy notes much more pleasant. I am not completely conquered by the typicity of the red cane for this rum. Not the best white I've tasted.

Rum produced from red cane, distilled 53° gives the nose vegetal and floral notes. The sugar cane is present but not too strong. There are also citrus notes with lemon. On the palate there are earthy and mineral notes, and there is also an iodized side. Nice work.
