I found this rum in Reno, Nevada at a large liquor store that had an entire rack of it. I had never saw it before and it was from France, so I thought it would be an interesting rum to try.

I opened the bottle and out came a strong smell of an unpleasant aftershave, with a strong infusion of ginger.

The taste was a massive hit of ginger and spice, with a little brown sugar, licorice, and some lime. Surprisingly easy drinking for 42%abv, but just not great tasting to me. Way too much ginger imho. Probably intended as a mixer.

I know a lot of fellow drinkers who hate this a lot more than me. I love ginger so this might be the reason I like it more than them. Drink at your own risk.

The mix of ginger and rum is drinkable but should not necessarily be sought out. As Mr. Spock would say “Interesting” but not “fascinating”. Amaretto mellows it out a bit and 50/50 tastes a bit like an Amaretto with a ginger kick (improvement). Completely neutralizes the taste of Dr. Pepper and just leaves the ginger aftertaste - an interesting taste experience.
I’ll report back on the viability of a Spytail bomb, I just happen to be out of RedBull when writing this.
If you choose to drink it, the ginger aftertaste will dominate everything afterwards for at least 10 minutes.

Not your typical rum, but great in homemade eggnog. Otherwise I could not recommend it though....😁

It's light brown in colour. Aroma is of ginger and caramel. Flavour is sweet with caramel then lingering ginger. So good neat, I wouldn't want to waste it by mixing it with something.

Sympa pour un rhum arrangé.
Le goût du gingembre est bien présent (odeur et goût).
Le rhum en lui même est très moyen mais au final ça passe bien.
Les notes finales sont inexistantes, le gingembre prend le dessus.

A surprisingly nice rum! At first, the overpowering ginger spice took me off guard and I wasn't sure I liked it. But after adding plenty of ice, it reached a slightly more mellow and much more enjoyable level, a very nice sipping rum. I also tried it mixed, and it makes a fantastic spiced rum and coke. Really good, one of the best for mixing. But sadly a bit too expensive to use as a mixer often.

I was traveling on Vancouver Island, BC Canada and came across this rum. I had never seen or heard of it so I bought a bottle. I am a little disappointed in the strong ginger flavor, but it is marketed as a ginger rum so I should have expected this. I have had some on the rocks and it is drinkable, but I think it will end up in a tall glass of ice cold ginger beer with a lime.

To sweet for me. Has a weird taste on back of tongue. When put on ice the ginger flavour finally comes out

Well it is definitely as the name implies ginger, on the nose, mouth and a heated finish when tried neat. Better with orange juice. Interesting with coke. I would only have this as a summer drink if offered. Not my style to have in my cabinet.

I love ginger, especially mixed with rum, and was very eager to try this. Either my expectations were too high, or this isn't as good as it should be. The bottle is great, but the contents are not as good as they could be.
Nice is about as good a description as I can give. It's a bit perfumy on is own, but tastes ok with ginger ale. I wouldn't discount it, but there are better rums out there.
