Barcelo Imperial Onyx

Onyx could be good if it aged a bit longer. It's very sharp at the end taking away from what I assume would be a good complex finish.

Desi se simte cam pronuntat alcoolul au balansat lasandu l la 38 grade.

coal, yes. is the first thought that tempts me both at the smell and at the tasting. a thin rum that floods the mouth and envelops the tongue with small stings of alcohol and spreads the aromas of charcoal, caramel, wood and leather and as if it were fruity in the background with a sweet allure.
Although it feels a bit pronounced, they balanced the alcohol by leaving it at 38 degrees.
A pleasant rum.

I wasn't expecting much from Barcelo brand, usually it disappoints me in some manner. This rum is praised by most, though I can't say it's the case. The nose is rich and plays in the league with Plantation XO or Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva, but the taste is too dry and flat. Some leather is felt in the aftertaste, and not to my liking.

It's quite OKAY, but not great or even too good. 67-69/100. It's a sipping kind though.

Couleur un peu plus foncé que impérial odeur est la même. Cela reste Rhum très doux et note de vanille et de boisé ou grillé plus complexe que son frère impérial. Moins fort en alcool et plus épicer.

Barceló Imperial považujem za ukážkový suchý rum na bežný deň, pri ktorom človek nemusí siahať hlboko do peňaženky. Preto som bol zvedavý na jeho podstatne drahšieho súrodenca. Podobne tvarovaná fľaša, tentokrát z matného čierneho skla, pôsobí veľmi elegantne a svojsky. Ukrýva tmavší nápoj, ktorého vôňa okamžite upúta svojou hĺbkou, na pozadí okrem tradičných tónov cítim dokonca stopy ovocného džemu. Aj chuťovo je oveľa komplexnejší ako 38% brat, popri dubovom dreve dominuje karamel a koža. Príde mi o chlp sladší ako Imperial, pritom vyniká svojou jemnosťou. Chute krásne hrajú, dozvuky v dutinách trvajú podstatne dlhšie. Zatiaľ bez debaty najlepší z menej sladkých rumov, rozhodne sa k nemu budem pravidelne vracať. Tento rum nemôže uraziť asi nikoho, veľa muziky za rozumnú cenu, skvelá voľba.
