Rum & Cane Asia Pacific XO rum

Rum & Cane Asia Pacific XO

Andorra | Aged | 46% ABV

A blend of rums from different countries that are aged for six years. It's made from molasses, distilled using column stills, and aged in ex-bourbon casks. The rum is distilled at the South Pacific Distillery in Fiji and in Java, Indonesia, and then aged in white oak barrels and traditional Djati wooden vats. Rum & Cane Asia Pacific XO has notes of baked banana, manuka honey, and tropical fruit. XO stands for Extra Old rum, which refers to rums that have been aged in an oak barrel for at least six years before bottling.

Chiar daca e mai tanar, arome fresh cu un pic de vanilie si un aftertaste cam scurt, cred ca e un rom mult mai bun decat alte brand-uri mult mai cunoscute. Merita toti banii!

Fresh taste, short aftertaste, too young, light color

It smells sweeter than it tastes. It has a medium body and a bitter finish, but not a big alcohol explosion when you sip it. It has a quick finish. It tastes like a good mixing rum, and it has enough of its own flavor to work well with most rum drinks. It is also pleasant enough for just sipping, so I find it very versatile. The web says it is around $95 for a bottle. I am going to disagree with the price to quality. It matches favorably with the $50 rums.

Another very light in colour rum. Not much on the nose , just flowers and fruit. Never tried Indonesian rum but have tried plenty of Fijian ones , most very average. Bit of a burn in the mouth , sugarcane juice up front. Short and quite forgettable..

Got a sample of this rum from RR Tasting Club. It’s a blend of rum from Indonesia and Fiji. I’m not a fan of Indonesian rum so I suppose it’s the Fijian part that makes it OK for me.
I detect vanilla, tropical fruits and some spices. In the end suddenly the taste of orange dominates. I could easily have had one more glass.
Picture: The emptied sample and the content poured in a glass out in the Stockholm archipelago.

No coloring added and not chill filtered. The nose is lite and taste does not have much going on in spite of the 46% ABV. Long, somewhat bitter finish. Not my style.

Sweet & flowery. Very light sipping rum would not use in a mixed drink.

Lighter both in color and flavor than the French Overseas from Rum & Cane. Smooth enough but not particularly memorable.

Smell is wood forward, taste is bitter with seet caramel finish but short lived since this peppery burn ruins it.

Smooth, simple, and light, some spiced oak, long honey finish. Our rum society sampled three Rum & Cane expressions (French and West Indies), this one was my favorite.
