Tasty, but not quite great
Never been to Seychelles.. saw it on the shelf of UAE duty-free.. was sceptical.. but my missus "WOW'ed".. she was so optimistic about this one (though she has no clue about Rum), that she convinced me do get one..
It is GOOD for that price range. A bit harsh to sip, but you can get one of the best "Cuba libre" with this one
Column and alembic distillation, maturation in new French oak barrels and bourbon barrels. Sweet aroma: cherries in chocolate, cinnamon, cloves. Taste: honey, propolis, slightly ginger. Spicy, sweet finish, nuts, ginger, cinnamon and honey, figs.
A spicy, light sweet smell, light sharp, some vanilla and coconut. The taste is rather light, some sweetness and alcohol, not much else. The finish is quite short.
The colour and the smell leads you to expect something rich, sweet, full of chocolate, caramel and vanilla, but the taste is completely diffident. It's smooth, bitter, woody and with a vague distant glimmer of molasses.
Nose: like a real rum, some wood, do not feel any spices, pretty plain. Taste: soft, not spirit, good to sip in general. But almost no any aftertaste..
