On the nose, there is mix of German Spekulatius cookies scent with cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger, cardamom, first few shots were actually too dry for my palate (no sugar added here) to put it together with all these spices. As you get through the bottle, the spices get a bit muted and the rum body starts to be more recognizable and althought it is quite young (I would guess around 3y), it adds some fruity traits to the taste, it plays well with the spices and it is really fun to sip it. The aftertaste is long and (of course) spicy, with some alcohol burn. Makes also an interesting rum and coke with a touch of Christmas. I am not a big fan of spiced rums, but this one has style.
Since this spiced rum with no added sugar is not rated so highly here, I never went out of my way to find it until I stumbled across it a few days ago in Las Vegas. It was only $14, and I will stock up on it the next time I see it!!!
This is a very smooth rum at 70 proof with flavors of cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, and a few of their proprietary seasonings. Because it has no added sugar, there are no ill after effects the next day. It is now my second favorite spiced rum behind Blackwell's Reserve. It was also the best of the three rums from Foursquare that I tried on this trip. Doorly's XO was not too far behind, but Doorly's 12 Year was a major disappointment.
Very nice spiced rum! Smooth mouth and throat feel, perfect sweetness for a spiced. Warming cinnamon flavor throughout, short finish with cinnamon notes slowly dying off. This will be more of a sipper for me. I feel the cinnamon would get lost with coke but may be noticed with ginger ale. We will see.
Purchased at Total Wine in Lexington KY. Rich gold in color. Not very aromatic at first pour. Mild sweetness to the nose. Peppermint, whiskey, pumpkins. After letting the pour sit for a half hour, both the aroma and flavor jumps out. Lots of pumpkin pie spices. Strong spice cabinet flavors.

Another quality product from Richard Seales, unfortunately only available if you happen to live in a state where Total Wine sells liquor.

On the nose:
Low ethanol smell, it has a kaloa coffee like smell, one dimensional but not in a bad way.
On the tongue:
Muted kaloa taste is still there, but mixed with generic spice somewhere in the back, perhaps some vanilla, the after taste is quickly finished.
Personal opinion:
This is a great neat rum for easy drinking, though with the simple taste you will be likely to pour larger portions.
Pale colour, cinammon, vanilla, nutmeg, however rather harsh on the palate (an ice cube helps). A great mixing rum, yes, however it's far from a great sipping rum. St the price point Chairman's Reserve or Rumbullion are much better spiced alternatives in my opinion.

This was a decent find while I was in America. Very nice with coke. But wouldn't drink as a sipping rum.
Spices in the rum are quite subtle.
"Quite a nice rum, though not really a spiced rum."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

But not overwhelming. Subtle and made with a good standard of rum unlike most!
