This is the first rum I've tried from Trois Rivieres. Has a super dry bourbon flavor that seems a bit harsh for a 12 year old rum.

Smells and tastes of bourbon, cedar wood, pine needles, fruit, and leather. Way too dry and bourbon-like for my liking.

I feel bad for dragging the score down from an 8.0, but I just don't care for this.

Great product. It's an Agricole: it needs to breathe a bit of air to smooth down the harshness of this kind of products, so sip it slowly, it will pay back! Strong fresh taste, with sweet hints of vanilla and tropical fruit. Some hints of spices like pepper at the very end. The strength of the agricole is still there, but well balanced by the richness of its taste. The final result is a very fresh and tasty product.

It’s my first Trois Rivieres and it’s good, wonder how the more expensive are.
The nose is very fruity, a little spicy and woody.
The taste is very aromatic.
The afterburn is very long and flavourful.

Visited the Trois Rivieres distillery while vacationing in Martinique. Open tasting bar. Trois Rivieres 12y was priced at EUR 70 per bottle at the distillery. Nice and sturdy box surrounding a basic bottle and label design. Golden color. Traditional very dry Rhum Agricole flavors complemented with plenty of grass and oak to your nose and palate. Quite a kick at the end. Rhum Agricole lovers can add 2 points to the score.

this rhum is a very complex and interesting one. The initial flavour is dominated by bitter cane and spiciness with some hints of pineapple and liquorice. When tasted these flavour notes continue with a mild short attack which underlines the overall spiciness. Very interesting is now the finish (it is quite long lasting but it would be great if that would be even longer): the initial flavour picture (bitter taste) switches over and gives way to a mild and sweet taste of cane. As a result this is a very comlex and interesting rhum.

A essayer absolument!

Nice and balanced nose. By taste 12 ans is similar with Triple Millesime with shorter after taste.
