6 Plantation Belize 8-Year Grapia Finish ratings

Sort by: Popularity | Date | Rating

It has been a long time since i tasted this but i really enjoyed it.
Its quite intense on palate, very warming spicy and peppery, vanilla, slight exotic fruit and toffee flavours.
Just the right amount of sweetness to round it up a little.
Finish was intense, long and peppery.
Has quite a kick but not on a bad way.
This has quite an unapologetic fiery character but i really like it, may not be for everyone though.
Didnt try this in cocktails.

Plantation Belize XO Single Cask Grapia (6y+2y) 43.1%

color: amber, slightly boiled tea. body average
aroma: biscuit, creamy, spicery, baked pie, cocoa-coffee theme, molasses. A freshness appeared, freshness in the fragrance
taste: soft, enveloping, dry, warming, sweetness, spices appear to the fore, there is acidity, a little vanilla.
aftertaste: Average sweet, fruity turning into peppery.

very nice and pleasant rum. 85 points

Best enjoyed neat and I think best suited to after dinner. Strong fruity notes and a lovely degree of complexity - among the best of plantation and this one of the best.

This rum is remarkable! Fermented in the Yucatán Then distilled in a column still, the rum is then aged in bourbon casks for 6 years. Then sent to France to be further aged in cognac casks. From there it is aged again in Brazilian Ash barrels(grapia).
Nice complex rum with notes of sherry, baking spices, coconut, maple syrup, cloves and tropical fruit. Smooth, enjoyable rum that should be enjoyed neat, not mixed as their are many less expensive lower quality rums for that. Plus the fact that this rum is very hard to come by as you won't find it in the US. It is a limited edition rum and will set you back about $45-$60 US.
I recently purchased this rum in Sint Maarten while on a cruise. Glad I did as I had asked the employee at the liquor store what would be a high quality rum that I can't get back in the US, and she pointed to Belize XO 8 and Havana Club Seleccion de Maestro.

Zrání 6 let v sudu po bourbonu a 2 roky v sudu z jihoamerického tvrdého dřeva grapia.
Sud číslo 11, lahev číslo 352.
Alkohol: 43,1 %

Excellent!
