Plantation Overproof O.F.T.D.

This is certainly a rum that should be in every cocktail makers cabinet and will be firmly added into mine wonderful flexibility

I haven't found a rum in the "dark" category that I like more than this. It is great in Tiki drinks, floating on other rum cocktails, or sipping slowly on the rocks. I can't seem to put my finger on it, but there's something about this rum that just cheers me up... oh yeah, maybe it's the 138 proof.

Overproof rum is a world on its own, and it is certainly not for the faint of heart. With that being said, if you enjoy the burn, then you will probably love this edition from Plantation.

Nose: Plum, caramel and a light funk infused with banana bread
Taste: Very rich taste of maple, overripe fruit and a nice smoky body. Long warm aftertaste that spreads from the mouth, not only to the throat, but the whole body.
Overall: This rum is really something special. The 69% abv is something, that will scare of some people, and that is understandable, but if you are up for it you will get a tasting experience like no other.

sure I do not need to review around that is so highly acclaimed. Has a nice thick dark color and a fantastic taste so many delicious types of molasses and dark flavoring. you just have to be careful as the high percentage that sneak up on you.

My favorite in the overproof section, not brutal but strong, possible to sip not so funky with body and fruits.

At first I was spewing fire, but then I mixed it with some ginger beer, and I was awestruck! Truly a fantastic choice!

I’d have this in any form: neat, with a mixer, in a cocktail. Very difficult to over shadow this bombshell of a drink!

I was very pleasantly surprised! This is my first overproof rum. I fell in love with its orange-coffee aroma and chocolate aftertaste. Be careful - it burns)

Nice strong bold taste ... high percentage rum, make sure not to make your drink too strong :-)

gust .. mai intai ia foc )) iei o gura mica mica mica iar romul asta in contact cu saliva are o ractie de parca ar fi bicarbonat , il plimbi repede prin gura si incepi sa simti arome de vanilie, cacao , o anume mica dulceata . alcooooool .. in final ramane un gust ca de sare de lamaie (pe sticla scrie ceva de portocala )) asa o fi )

romul asta trebuie combinat clar, cel mai bine mi a iesit cu bere de ghimbir , lime si menta , superb )

e o surpriza incredibila acest rom, se simte aroma chiar daca pui doar putin intr un cocktail , e peste varianta original dark dar nu e recomandat sa iei mai mult de 2 guri sec. in plus nu e un rom scump, o super investitie .
