Really nice nose on this rum. Flavors follow, but are more subtitle and perhaps a bit overwhelmed by the alcohol & astringency. The body is where this really missed for me as a sipper - very thin. Flavors reminded me of the Paul Masson VS Brandy I've been drinking, which, at 1/2 the price, is a better sipper. I thought the FDC 4 year anejo oro was both a better sipper and mixer, and around $5-$7 less per bottle, and I'd buy that again before purchasing this. Still, this is a decent rum that I wouldn't have any trouble drinking again.
This is a great "standard" she's run. No complexity, nothing to write home about, but worth sipping, mixing, or keeping in the arsenal.
Strong alcohol to the nose and on the tastebuds at first sip. Mix it with my go to (cherry dr.pepper) and it becomes great. It balances the soda very well and still has that traditional rum and soda taste. For the price it's a go to for mixing
Good everyday mixxer...not more. Ok on the rock...
Un bon petit rhum à déguster autant sur glace qu'en cocktails très sec mais descend très bien
Great everyday rum not a fan of it neat but for mixing is great
Love this Rum with 7up and ice! Good enough to drink on the rocks!
I was expecting more from this rum. Strong smell of bourbon and alcohol.
I will have to try older rums of Flor de cana.
Pretty standard rum. Nothing stands out. Alcohol up front. No other real flavors.
Working my way up to better rums. Pleasantly surprised by this. Easy to sip straight.
It smells reasonably “boozy”. You still get notes of good oak ageing.
"The finish is overall quite bitter almost like dark chocolate."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

The first rum I tasted on it's own, and still one of my favourites. Good enough to drink straight, but you wouldn't feel bad about putting in some ice, a slice of lemon or, why not, a dash of coca cola (but only a dash). Flor de Caña always keeps its distinct molasses-taste, also in this younger brother of the family.
