I'm still new to rum tasting and working on my pallet but I had a glass of this neat followed by a glass of Appleton Signature (green label) and I much prefer the latter. Haven't tried it in cocktails yet but hoping for a good mixer.

The Flor de canas are a bit sharp in the flavour, but pure and good.

Nice flavours and clean finish. I have a rew others that I prefer as a sipping rum over this one but it is enjoyable non the less. Decent for the lower price and a good lineage of longer aged namesakes. Glad I tied this one but the next one will be something different.

The best thing I can say about this rum is that is it very easy to drink; but that's also its weak point, no character at all in my opinion. I guess it makes an awesome mixer. 5 years is a better option overall.

Reading that this is aged in old jack barrels explains why it’s so good for a seven year old. I’ve had it neat and it was surprisingly pretty good. I think it would be great for a rum punch mixer!

Esters (especially ethyl acetate) and alcohol dominate the aroma, with honey notes. More complex on tasting, with sweetness and aldehydes (especially vanillin) joining in. Moderate burn, especially in back of mouth, going with alcoholic warming.

To dry and young for me. I like it more sweet. Bit harshe on the tongue.

A bit harsh for sipping, but makes a decent cocktail.
