Flor De Cana Gran Reserve 7 is produced in Nicaragua using a three-column still process. Distilled according to a precise recipe, the rum is aged for seven years in charred oak barrels that previously held Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey.
Flor De Cana is part of the Grupo Pellas, Compañia Licorera de Nicaragua, SA. The name, Flor De Cana, means “flower of the sugarcane.
Nice dark rum, relatively smooth with some nice flavours
A nice simple sipper for a 7 year old. Basic and smooth with one ice cube. Great value for the price
If this didn’t light your mouth on fire with an overwhelming alcohol burn you might notice a semblance of a flavor profile. Unfortunately the only thing I could think of was how to put out the raging bonfire this rum lit on my tonsils.
Easy drinking. Mild character. Blends well without taking over.
Color - Caramel
Aroma - Butterscotch very light
Flavor - Malt, whiskey
Finish - White pepper
Mouthfeel - Silky
Balance - Very dude building to late kick. Mild
Just an overall so-so rum. Smell is a bit rough and stilted which corresponds to the flavor. Initially overly sweet with a very long harsh aftertaste of alcohol. I’d drink this again if the only thing on the menu and a good Irish is nowhere to be found.
I truely believe this is the best all around rum. Not perfect but good for just about any purpose, and won't break the bank.
Ron de 7 anos promedio, muy bueno para cuba libre.
One of my favorite go'to rums. I consider this my 'house' rum. Cant go wrong here. Great price point.
In der Nase erstmal leer. Dann scharf, etwas herb. Keine Länge im Abgang. Vielleicht als Mischrum geeignet.
Pur nicht elegant zum Genießen. Sehr scharf und wenig aussagend. Wahrscheinlich ist er gut zum Mischen...
I love and tried all Flor de Cana series, so this is lower limit, I think. This has enough typical FDC flover, just a bit light and deficiency complexity.
This is a decent sipping rum provided you enjoy Cuban-Dominican rums. If you want to mellow it a little I would suggest on the rocks.
It is my new "stock" rum that I keep on hand. It is a good price here in Ontario, Canada so you won't mind serving it to your "rum and coke" guests.
Its worlds above the 5 year.
Great taste, superb for sipping. Bought For curiosity, not a rum fan actually. Thanks.
To dry and young for me. I like it more sweet. Bit harshe on the tongue.
Hace tiempo que no lo gasto, pero para su precio está muy bien, por debajo de los 10€, aunque prefiero otros con algo más de precio y más a mi gusto.
Flavour is good but my mouth is on fire. A generous 6
Found this on sale this month at my local NC ABC for 20 bucks. Since that's only $1.00 more than the 4 year I wanted to try I thought, duh. Glad I did. Nice round flavors and a good nose. I drank it neat and the aftertaste was pleasant and smooth with no burn. This one will be on my list of regulars. Below I attached a pic of the new package.
Príjemný, nedosladzovany, jemný rum. Trocha karamelu, vanilky a to všetko za super cenu. Za mňa 7+
Should be higher than 6.6. Flor De Cana 7 is a terrific rum. It is unadaultered, real rum. No added sugars or flavors here. It blows my mind that the overall rating is so low.
Also this rum was supricing me for the quality/price range. Its a nice strong rum with a plessant strong but sweet aftertaste. The colour is a bit light and the smell not to sttong.
This rum is a bit better then the Abuelo
This rum took me by surprise with it's high proof, but I quickly got over it with the flavor. Vanilla and caremel are very strong up front, and even though the finish is not incredibly clean, it's definitely palatable.
Nice bite with some body on the tounge but not a sipper. Mixing is nice but looses some of the body without a lot of the depth. Nice but not a stocking rum for me.
