A really tasty slow sipper for a small price tag. Not the smoothest.
It's a good mixer. We taste this rum whith cola limette and ice.....fine.
Nice rum for mixing, straight is has some fruity notes and surprises not being too sharp on alcohol
Just one thing springs to mind tasting this: flowers. It has a very flowery perfumed taste which i really donot like.
First drank this dark beauty in La Fabrica, Granada where we'd buy or own bottle and mixed with a little Coke. Pleasant on the nose and smooth finish.
Would recommend to anyone.
Beste memories, and perfect tast. i'm a coca cola mixer. and this rum makes it so tasty.
I am a big rum fan and like to taste available rums when we have vacationed in Mexico All-inclusives these past years. This is my favorite "top-shelf" of the rums available when there. Agree with the "dark, smoke, leather" comments by others.
Un buen ron que sirve tanto para tomar solo como para combinarlo. Delicioso con zumo de naranja natural. Buen nivel.
I've never had the sensation of a spicy pop before like I had with this Flor de Cana. It's interesting, but the fun wears off quickly and it simply turns too spicy with little remaining flavoring. Short finish with an earthy pine type taste.
This was a pleasant surprise. Very smooth but not to much caramel. I'll drink it again.
It smells reasonably “boozy”. You still get notes of good oak ageing.
"The finish is overall quite bitter almost like dark chocolate."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I like all of the Flor de Cana products, they are solid and tend to be good values for their prices and over deliver. The Gran Reserve 7 is not my favorite FdC product but it is my favorite value from FdC. It sips well if in cold temps or hot and the price for the quality is hard to match.
Bottle: Tasteful appearance, old school charm.
Color: Light brown.
Bottle Smell: Vanilla comes first, some sweetness, the alcohol, and a hint of oak.
Glass: It doesn't change much except to lose some of the sweetness and show its age characters and become a solid oak aged rum.
Taste: Smooth, good oil levels allow you to taste the rum aged oak the label tells you to expect, typical caramel, vanilla hints and a not unpleasant throat.
This is a solid, good quality rum that is not far below in quality than bottles sold for more. This is my go to rum.
