This rum is outstanding in a cocktail. Classic Daiquiri - YES, Airmail - YES, Tiki Drinks that call for white rum? ABSOLUTELY. Why would anyone want to sip a white rum?

Very neutral in flavor, reminiscent of vodka to some degree. Makes a lovely Daiquiri and Mojito. If you're looking for a solid young Spanish-style white rum, it's hard to go wrong here.

Cork review: 0/10, screw top. Gross.

Ok, so I tasted this highly awaited rum by itself. It tastes like nail polish remover and turpentine mixed together. I'm really hoping this will mix well with fruit juices and such in tiki drinks, because on its own this is just crap!

Tasted at Laka Lono on 6/27/21. Pours clear (Secco). Sugary sweet floral aroma. Crisp. Much more flavor than the horrible oro. Finishes with a bit of dryness. A good silver mixing rum.

As others have already said, this is a great rum in cocktails. I don't drink any spirit neat, so I can't comment on that, but in a Daiquiri or any rum cocktail, this is delicious. If you try it, I'll bet you'll like it. The Nicaraguan distillery could have charged two or three times the price for this, and no one would say it was overpriced, but obviously they were shooting for a large volume of business. It's up there with Plantation Three-Star for quality and value.

Light and refreshing! Citrusy and mildly sweet on the nose with a bit of alcohol, carries into the taste. Nothing complex, a bit warm going down, but not overly harsh. Great mixer for really any cocktail calling for a light rum, works very nicely in Mojitos and Daiquiris. Nicely priced for the quality. Definitely a permanent fixture in my bar.

we use it for daiquiri, mai tai and hemingway special cocktails, every time i open the bottle i can t resist and sniff the aroma from the bottle, sometimes problems with pouring because of that incorporated plastic pourer ... one of the best light rums i ever tried

Disclaimer, New to the rum world and more of cocktail than neat spirit person...very reminiscent of vodka to me, the only flavor I get when smelling and tasting this is alcohol. I personally do not like this in cocktails either due the rubbing alcohol aspect shining through fairly strong. Maybe my noviceness is showing here and my palate isn’t as mature as others but just my 2 cents!

Tried sipping but a bit to young and alcohol forward, but sterile but solid for mixed drinks

On a blind tasting in a group of four people, three preferred Havana Club 3-Year over the Flor de Caña Extra Seco.

Nose: What nose? Will say it had less ethanol on the nose compared to the Havana Club.
Palate: Reminiscent of vodka, that is lacking in flavor. Less ethanol bite than the Havana Club.
Finish: short

Tested in daiquiris, similar results noted.

Bought a 375 to give this a try definitely not my ideal rum. Will not buy again. Hard to give an adequate review when it doesn't appeal to me in general.
