Light and refreshing! Citrusy and mildly sweet on the nose with a bit of alcohol, carries into the taste. Nothing complex, a bit warm going down, but not overly harsh. Great mixer for really any cocktail calling for a light rum, works very nicely in Mojitos and Daiquiris. Nicely priced for the quality. Definitely a permanent fixture in my bar.
A lot of rums claim some degree of dryness, however you want to interpret that, but this actually lives up to it on the palate. A really great mixer, particularly for sugar-heavy drinks where the dryness helps keep the end product from becoming cloying. Better at its job than anything else in its price range.
Good with colas and sweet drinks, not for sipping.
This is the best rum for a MO-JO. However when it was mixed with Coke it was not pleasant. In fact I poured it out !
First off, the bottle I have reads "Flor de Caña Extra Seco" so it's the same thing, right? Anyway, this is a rum best suited as a mixer. A bit too rough for sipping IMHO but still has some nice flavors and not much sweet. Has distinct sugar cane flavor right off the bat but then that bat hits you in the throat...hard. Can catch the novice off-guard quite easily. However that sugar cane molasses flavor lends itself greatly in a number of mixed drinks especially fruit-based drinks IMHO. A few ounces of this with some good orange juice is a must. Very versatile in this respect. Good to have onhand for mixers.
I am a big fan of Flor de Cana, so I couldn't wait to try their white extra dry. It's a really good mixer with a light taste that stays out of the way in your cocktails.
one of those 'good' review rums at a bargain price-$11.95.
had to try it, and found it good enough in cocktails. Obviously not the top end best, but well worth having.
Simular to Bacardi or Cruzan. Inexpensive for the budget minded
Mixed with enough coke it has a sweet fruity aftertaste but if you make it to strong it has a dry ethanol aftertaste to it. Which isn't to bad since it's very short lasting. 1st rum I've ever had that had no real taste going down though.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

A great little mixer. Average for Mojitos. A good addition to the cabinet for a white rum.
