Thanks so much for submitting a report. It has been emailed to the Rum Captain and will be actioned shortly.
This bottle had been sitting on the bottom shelf of my favorite liquor store for months. Finally, it begged me to take it home, so I finally did. It is almost as thick as pancake syrup. It would go great on pancakes or waffles. It also goes great in premium coffee. It is capable of putting any vanilla latte over the top! You can also use it to mellow out those rums that have too much wood in the flavorings. As a neat sipper or on the rocks, this would only be for those with a sweet tooth. It is better than their Mango, but not as good as their Coconut. Their Spiced is still by far my favorite from them.
As stated very smooth and creamy great aroma a nice change of pace for a sipper I'm still trying to place it but I'll find it.
Sweet and smooth. Good mixed or on its own. I would recommend it.
Smoooooooooootthhhh!!!!!! Tastes great. Great for sipping
a very good smooth rum. I like the vanilla taste so i prefer this rum over other vanilla rums.
Strong vanilla flavor. Not bad but way too seeet to sip neat or even on the rocks. Had this on a recent cruise and enjoyed it mixed with club soda. Diet Coke may be a good option as well.
If your a fan of really stong vanilla give it a try, it's a bit over powering for me but other that that not too bad.
Had a rum tasting on a sunny afternoon, because why not. Brinley Gold Shipwreck Vanilla Rum bottle and label design looks very cheap and low end. Industrial strength vanilla floor cleaning product coming through to the nose and palate. Quite a harsh burn at the end, so better to mix it up with your favorite soda, or simply walk away.
I bought this rum knowing that it was sweet, but even so I was surprised with just how sweet it was. You could chug the entire bottle and still not get a burn or hint of alcohol. With that being said it's a good rum for those who have a sweet tooth.
Lovely aroma and smooth vanilla flavor. Doesn't have the bite some rums have so it can be dangerous if you drink too much. Have a hard time finding it in OH by the bottle.
This one was gifted to me for my birthday by a friend who knows I love rums. Taste a lot like candy, super sweet but not terrible. I've had the same bottle for a while though. I'm sure I'd get a bad sugar headache if I drink too much.
This is absolutely delicious. As noted on other reviews - very smooth almost like a cordial . Tastes almost "thick" it may be too heavy for some traditionalists. The vanilla flavor is natural and quite appealing . This is a sipper for sure- hard to put down. Tastes like nothing I've had before. Strong vanilla with a tasty blend of natural molasses . The Brinley family sure knows rum. I'm also a huge fan of the shipwreck gold spiced. So good I immediately ordered 6 bottles because it's not easy to find. A bargain at twice the price .
We found this on St. Kitts and Nevis, a fav local mixer is Bing (put some zing in your Bing!) and the Brinley surely delivers the zing with 70 proof, yet on the rocks like smooth and easy vanilla liquor with a wonderfully easy caramel finish, and a wonder at how that smile broke out on my face. Yum! The mango is also a fruity prize, so back in the US we sought distributors and have since successfully sampled the coco cream, (not a coconut fan, either) and the coffee is just great. A steal at the price; don't say a word.
I am rating this high because it tastes so good, but it is not a sipping premium rum. This stuff was like candy, not a hint of Booze in the flavour. Incredibly sweet.
What sold me on this rum was the color. It didn't disappoint in flavor either. Starts off smooth with strong molasses and vanilla flavor and finishes with a sweet bite. Hard to beat for $20 if you want a sweet sipper.
Still on the hunt for the perfect sipper
