I've changed my rating to a 7. It is an excellent sipping rum, straight without ice. Reasonably smooth and it has a nice rum flavor. Those are important characteristics of rums that I like, I generally don't care for spiced rums or harsh ones. It is not particularly complex, so that keeps it from being rated absolutely superb. However, it perfectly fills the need for a great tasting, smooth, sipping rum.

well, i love the chocolate taste and flavour. Also some almond and nuts. Decembers tasting top 5. good value for the price. Yet i would expect more complexity from 12yo. as to my notes - it misses some sweetness to have more points.

The 7 year is a better value, especially for mixing. Personally prefer Zaya 12 and Abuelo 12 for sipping as they are sweeter and smoother. This is dryer and harsher if that is the style that you prefer.

Not a smooth and nice rum. I find it a little boring and I can only use it as a mixer. Haven't tried the 18 or 25 yet, but hope they are a lot better. Not a re-buy.

A good everyday rum. Actually enjoyed it with Coca-Cola. I never mix my rums but this one was good for that. Really want to try the 18yr & 25yr

Not the smoothest sipping rum, has a bite. If you like very full body with orange and oak this will be your rum. Not my favorite.

A bit smoother, fuller and complex than his younger 7y brother. Sweet and nice touch of flavour of butter. I like new bottle design. Compared with older version (somebody says that is better receipt), there small difference in taste, but I like newer more.
