Beautiful amber color with gray green reflections. On the nose are pastry notes, dried fruits. We must let time do its work and let this rum aerate. There are also vegetable and floral notes. It is very complex. On the palate, we are on the same aromas with a not very long finish. Very nice rum, need time to discovery all aromas. Not easy when you taste during a rum festival ;-)

Very, very fine rum. Expensive and worth it. Smooth with fluent soft sweetness. Balance with confident bite. Vanilla, oak tobacco and currant notes in the background. Smooth as silk. A top shelf sipper. Elegant. Flavor fills the senses and coats the pallet. Delicious in every way. Slightly better neat. Robust and only slightly sweet. Almond notes in a long smoldering finish. Exquisite!

Enjoyed back-to-back Malecon Seleccion Esplendida 1982 and 1987 while in Tokyo. Very nice and sturdy bottle design but rather dull label design. Both 1982 and 1987 are true 30 year old rums, none of that Solera shenanigans. Deep amber mahogany color. Plenty of nuts and vanilla mixed with mild oakiness to the nose and palate when neat sipped. Super smooth ending. Both are simply spectacular rums, but the 1982 to me seemed too dry.

What should I say. I love the PANAMA Way of RUM. Great!
