This Agricole greets you with a sweet and somewhat smoky nose.
The taste is also sweeter than usual. It's not very complex but not bad eather.
I got surprised by the sweeter taste.
It's not exceptional, quite intensive. I can't notice the dilution in a negative way, because there is some sweetness that gives me an intensive mouthfeel.

Nose: sugar syrup, fruits (pear, pineapple), vanilla and citrus, pepper, gras, some smoke
Taste initial: sweet fruits (peach, pear), sweetness, some olives (a little bit salty behind the sweetness -> I would prefer more of that)
Middle: pepper, sugar cane, became again sweet, spice, smoke, nutmeg
Aftertaste: some bitterness with sugar cane and fruits with some smoke

Sweetness: 2.5/5
Fruits: 3/5
Spice: 2.5/5
Mildness: 3.5/5
Value (40.5€): 2.5/5

Rum tasting in the Finnish wilderness with my good old friend continued with Labourdonnais Classic Gold. Nice old school bottle and label design. Bright golden color. Strong grassy Rhum Agricole flavors to your nose and palate when neat sipped. Surprisingly mild and short burn at the end.

Petit goût râpeux qui reste sur la langue donc pas très agréable. Le spiced gold est bien meilleur, plus parfumé. Déçu

I imagine that if I built a still and made rum, this is what it would taste like. While this is an improvement over their Premium white rum, it has the same fatal flaws of too much pure alcohol (turpentine) and funky vegetable compost aroma and flavour. This rum does have some oak and spice added in, and you could use it as a mixer, but there are so many other rums that you could use for that.

Sugar Cane Juice. Dry.
I´m smelling apple and calvados and more fruits.
in my mouth: pear, something bitter, nutmeg. peach. salt. fruitiness is overwhelming.
