Flor de Caña 18-Year

Rich smooth oak flavour sipping one of my favourites

This is a nice sipping rum. It is really light in flavorful, smooth and not much kick on the backend. I used to think it was as good as rum could be. Until I had zecapa xo, centenario 20, 25, 30, Diplomatico, dictador, plantation, ECT.

I tested just one shot but I am thinking of buying whole bottle. Really good rum.

Do not taste right away. Way too strong in alcohol fumes. But after having passed a while of patient expectation and careful swirling in the glass, smell and taste the caramel and honey, and the distinctive aroma of vanilla. Then, and only them, one can appreciate the greatness of this rum. Love it!

Jeg havde forventet mig mere af Flor de Caña 18-års. Jeg synes både duft og smag er tam. Den er meget mild, men der mangler virkelig noget på alle parametre - især eftersmag.

En ok rom, som med årene er blevet bedre. Velafbalanceret og meget mild.

For this price or less there are way better rums. The nose is pleasant. A bit fruity. The taste is pretty different though. It's dry, a little bit sweet and quite oaky, I guess. Left it in the glass for a while, but that didn't change much. Not my favorite kind of rum.

I like it. Very smooth sipping rum. I put one ice cube in here and it's delicious.

Letting it breath for a few minutes... and sip it up slowly... very good dry rum. I had it first on Corn Island, Nicaragua... perfect combo..
