Very nice bottle.
In the glass light gold in colour.
Nose: Aroma thin
Mouth: Flavour restrained - disappointing for something this old. Not very sweet, overall very smooth.
Throat: Little burn, little aroma
Had expected more from this.

Nice strong tasting rum. Strong but easy to drink pure or on the rocks. I let the rum sit in the glass so the alcohol taste gets a little less stong

Geschmacklich dominieren bei diesem Rum eine aromatische Mischung aus Bitterschokolade, gerösteten Nüssen und Gewürzaromen. Der Abgang ist lang mit Eichen- und Karamellnoten.

I actually enjoy Flor de Cana's 12 year old rum over their 18. Price being only part of the equation!

Nachdem ich den 12yo versucht hatte (mit eher enttäuschendem Ergebnis) habe ich nun endluch den 18yo versucht - und meine damalige Hoffnung wurde leider nicht erfüllt. Der Rum hat eine sehr schöne Farbe und einen angenehmen (holzigen) Geruch. Geschmacklich ist er jedoch keine Offenbarung: wenig bis keine Süsse und Frucht, würzig und holzig dabei aber angenehm mild. Leider ist es mir anders rum lieber. Erinnert etwas an Bourbon.

I like it when the fastener is cork - for me its a sign of quality (most of the time). You can taste vanille oak and caramel! You can also mix it with cola
This is for ones that prefer a not-so-sweet rum. It has nice flavors and long aftertaste.

On sent trop l'alcool ça attaque le nez. Néanmoins parfumé et convenable pour boir au quotidien. Encore un très bon rhum pour les loups de mers.
