Flor de Caña 18-Year Centenario Gold Rum is produced in Chichigalpa, Nicaragua. The rum is crafted using column stills and is then aged for 18 years.
The 18-year variety is the oldest rum produced by Flor de Caña, a brand owned by Grupo Pellas and founded in 1890 Francisco Alfredo Pellas. A 5th generatino Pellas family member still runs the company today.
Bon rapport qualité prix, il est très doux. Un note de vanille et de chêne, le tout caramélisé. Par rapport au 12 et 7 ans, est qu’ il le prix? Pour les vrais connaisseurs oui, sinon le 12 fait l affaire.
This one is a good rum.. But the orange taste kills it for me.. I can´t stand it.. But i you like pyrat, Zacapa 23 and so on.. You will absolutly love this one..
coming out of the bottle into your glass you catch the aromas of mild citrus and subdued floral scents. Orange peel, cinnamon, cloves and something i can't quite place...allspice maybe? the bouquet is what i would consider solid but not strong. Very full but not pushy. Balanced. front of the tongue feel is soft, smooth, and buttery. As it moves further on your tongue the taste becomes bolder with a rich feel and the taste of leather, oak, orange, lemon, pineapple, and mango. There is also other fruit flavors i can't decipher that I'm sure are native to the region, kind of an apple like flavor? overall very smooth and easily drinkable straight.
Chaleureux riche en arômes, vanille, tabac, cette petite amertume délicieuse, cuir, végétaux. Beaucoup de choses à ressentir sur la fin, réchauffe les sens ! Légèrement sec, juste ce qu'il faut.
Decent nose. Wooden (oak?), round taste, the tail is too alcoholic.
It's hard to rate this rum as my likeness to it seems to vary. On some days I think it's fantastic and on other days it's just good. Always pleasing though!
A nice top shelf rum. Sweet and vanilla stands out. Best in brandy sniffer. Get it a bit warm for more aromas. Not ice!
A good taste for straight up rum, but needs ice for better taste
This is some of the best rum that I have ever had. They also make a 25 year old rum that is better. This rum is fine by itself and is very smooth.
But I kept trying it and it got better. It sat on the shelf a few months, but it grew on me. I don't know if I will buy another bottle though...
A bit of sweetness and too much alcohol was my first impression. Followed by.. Nothing. Aftertaste non existant.
Dark Brown, Amber, Golden
Kind of sweet (not so much as other rums), Smooth (can't smell any alcohol), woody, some honey, vanilla, chocolate, fruits.
so smooth, bit of sweet at the begin, bit bitter ending, definitive wood, vanilla, spicy, unctuous, dense, matted, delicious.
Very nice indeed; easy to drink neat.
smells of smoke and oak but balanced nicely.
Relatively inexpensive for an 18 year old.
If they had this in Ontario; I would drink it all the time.
But since I had to travel to Quebec to get it; it will probably be brought out just for special occasions.
Flor de Caña Centenario 18 års er lidt skarp i smagen.
...but not my kind of rum. Cannot really put my finger on it... Perhaps I should give this rum one more chance..?
Delicate and smooth, a crime to drink any way but neat. Please savour!
To much smokey dry oak and alcohol taste. Not that sweet and short finnish as the flavours disappears to fast.
Je m'attendais a beaucoup mieux avec un 18 ans, peu de longueur en bouche.
le final est mieux que sur le 12 ans, mais quand même trop sec et "raide" pour moi.
superb rum really nice balanced nice and smooth rum
Repéré par les récompenses du festival de miami. Grosse déception. Robuste, même trop à mon goût. Les saveurs ont du mal à s'exprimer face a la force de l'alcool. Je n'en reprendrais pas.
Smooth, highly aromatic, great for sipping. At the same time, its marketing is either almost invisible or just non-existent. Kind of a shy brand. You have to guess by yourself what does it stand for.
A very nice rum, but not so much different that the 12 years.
It has a soft, smokey oak, dry taste.
A little deeper, richer and more complex than 12 years.
A must have for my collection.
smooth. Good wood and light flavor with a hint of caramel finishing spicy and semi-"hot".
Sugar: 0 gpl. Smooth rum with Oak flavors, a bit of smoke and molasses. Not overly sweet and a bit sharp at first but it mellows quite nicely. Bit of harshness on the back end. If you are going to purchase one of the available Flor De Cana rums, then make it this one. It's not available in Ontario, but at $35 bottle at some duty free ports in the Caribbean, it is a great deal. It will set you back more in the USA.
