Mycket god med tydliga chokladtoner. Inte för ”spritig”

Quite a winner. Medium spice with oak. Slightly sweet. Good amount of oil lasts in the long finish. Could envision seasoned rum veterans really liking this one.

The first sip is definitely over powered by the alcohol. But as suggested in another review, let it sit a bit and then try it. Oh my! I prefer an ice cube to help open the rum . Wonderful Oak, butterscotch and spice. So yum!

Klasické ostrejšie centario od ktorého som čakal viac. Nevýrazná korenista chuť.

Make no mistake, this is an excellent rum but rarely do I find an 18 year old rum that I don't prefer as a sipper or just with an ice cube. Flor de Cana 18 year old rum is not a solera method and that makes it distinctive. It's a beautiful golden color. It is dry and not sweet. It leans a little toward the bourbon side, just a little. For this reason and a very strong alcohol aroma I couldn't enjoy this as a sipper. I mixed it with a bit of seltzer water and a couple of ice cubes. Then I found it delicious. The oak is the distinctive taste with vanilla also present. The flavors are not strong. It has very subtle flavors. This maybe because I mixed it but drinking it neat all I could taste was oak and smell strong alcohol. I did try letting it sit and breath. To be clear, I really did enjoy drinking this but only after watering it down a bit. I think there are better rums for $50 BUT if somebody gave me a bottle of Flor de Cana as a gift, I would receive it enthusiastically.

This was a gift and one I very much appreciated it to the last drop, as others have stated it's best to let this one breathe before sipping to let the flavors come out.

A good taste for straight up rum, but needs ice for better taste

I bought this bottle as my first top-shelf choice. After having tasted Bacardi's Ocho, Solera, Gran Añejo and Morgan Spiced, I wanted something from a higher league.

Definitely worth it. Outstanding straight or on the rocks. For what it costs, I wouldn't dare waste it on coke.

Picked this up since it was one of the better rated rums in the ~$50 price range and I have no regrets. It has a nice spiciness to it which I like, without being too dry. Would recommend.

Very nice color. Mild nose with sweet essence. Very smooth taste with very little burn and nice soft finish. Very enjoyable - I would definitely buy this again.
