Enjoyed a mini bottle of Malteco 1992 25y. Large bottle and label design are just okay but nothing special. Deep amber color. Raisin overload, massive amount of sugar, maybe added honey, mild coffee and some dried fruits to the nose and palate when neat sipped. No burn at all, but the exit is overly sweet. Easily earns a solid 9, but nowhere as good as the spectacular Malteco Seleccion 1987.
Vanilla and toffee. Burnt sugar. Might be ok in a cake. Too sweet for drinking, though.Strange and incoherent aftertaste. Oak-barrel? Most certainly sugar as well. Quite disappointing, all in all...
This real 25 years old rum was aged into bourbon cask. Nice amber color with gray green reflections, the nose is very pastry with honey, vanilla, chocolate, coffee. On the palate, the dry fruits are very presents with vanilla. The final is not long but very sweet.
Guter Rum, karamell und vanillig. Sehr gefällig, einfach und nicht kompliziert. Ein Rum den man immer trinken kann.
Notes: sweet caramels, dry fruit, vanilla chocolate, burnt sugar.
Nice sweet Rum whit long aftertaste , just ordered my second bottle
As always you expect more you older the Rum is, I like 15 year better due to some more sweetnes to it. This is to oaky and whiskey drinkers would like it. Still good with long aftertaste.
