A rum from El Salvador, aged for 8 years in bourbon barrels. So it's not a solera. 40% ABV.
Bottle: unusual, conical.
Colour: Quite light, golden.
Nose: Intense and quite dry. It smells mainly of vanilla, overripe fruits (mango, banana, orange), floral nectar, wood and a little pepper.
Taste: Quite pungent at the beginning, then it fades slightly. It is drier at first, then turns sweet. I don't think it's a very sweet rum, though. On the palate I detect vanilla, fresh honey on the honeycomb, a slight bitterness from the wood and a lot of overripe orange. The flavour lacks subtlety for me.
Conclusion. This is more of a slightly above average rum.
Overall rating: 6.5 points from 10
Not a bad sipping rum, sweet, mild spice, fairly easy to drink, but priced a bit to hight for what you get, imho, cheers
a neutral nose with a slight hint of alcohol. A very different taste to what I normally drink. I little tangy and the slightest sharp bite that fads quickly before a light slow heat sticks around with a pleasant aftertaste that reflects the original taste as it sticks around for quite a while. I tried it neat and it was smooth with a slight hint of sweetness.
Medium amber in colour. The nose is light but balanced. The flavour is also balanced and very smooth when sipped. It has a mild sweetness, but seems to smooth for 40% ABV, but no hydrometer test was found. $75 at LCBO and worth trying.
Alkohol: 40 %
Původ: Salvador
Aroma: Klasická kožená vůně, k ní se přidává med a jemná kořenitost, skořice a včelí plástve. Později se objeví i pepř a nové koření. (86 b)
The special edition is surprisingly good for 8 years. Normal edition is said to be poor though.
Very well balance with smooth burn, decent honey sweetness and nice aftertaste.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Smooth, delicate, a yota spicy, but feels like has some sugar added. Short, flat aftertaste.
Take Appleton 8 and/or El Dorado 8 for more enjoyment by less money.
Edit at 333 of 700ml progress: bumping up the rating. There's something special what makes me feel well ;)
