Very well balanced, easy to drink on its own and or for a fancy quality Cocktail. The balance between quality and pricing is perfect.

Yes it’s vanilla, but it’s an excellent blend with just the right burn and just the right mouthfeel. I enjoyed this one so much it was gone before anyone else could try it. I would drink a whole bottle again.

En meget lys gylden rom fra El Salvador. Farven fik mig til at frygte det værste, men allerede duften af chokolade, citrus og lidt kaffe vækkede interessen. Ved første sip fik man en kort fornemmelse af sprit, men den fik ikke lov at ødelægge noget, for straks kom chokolade og vaniljen, som trak i den gode retning. Man kan fornemme lidt citrus, som leder tanker over på de grønne eucalyptus vingummier fra Haribo. Da glasset var tømt fik jeg lyst til et mere. Så den skal helt sikkert have en plads i barskabet, da den er yderst interessant og kun koster 300 kr. (4. december 2018 og bedst indtil videre)

Tastes like you just baked vanilla cookies. That may not work for some, but for me it makes a sweet, delicious, super smooth, sipping rum. Comparable to another of my favorites, Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva, but with more vanilla. I need another bottle of this stuff.

This rum has caramel and vanilla flavors, a very good choice for mixed drinks

I discovered Cihuatán 8 last year while traveling through El Salvador. This is a truly dynamic rum for the price ($18USD in the airport).

Aroma: Sugar in the raw, vanilla, toasted marshmallow, slight oak/spice

Body: Medium / light. Somewhere between a cask strength and typical bourbon.

Flavor: Starts with sugar and vanilla and cuts back quickly with spice, heat, and woody. Slight resemblance of malted barley on middle of palate. Finishes with a long cinnamon spice and tannin on the palate. Some dried / candied fruits linger throughout as well.

Overall, this has been my favorite rum find of the last two years. (I just had my fill of Flor de Caña. I'd actually prefer drinking this to 7, 12, and 18.)

Excellent sipping rum for the price. Easy drinking with a sweet nutty finish. Bought mine in the San Salvador airport. Great last minute purchase!
