Looking beyond Panama for inspiration, Napoleon is expertly finished in Cognac

I tried all 3 in this collection and still don't believe the stated 15yr old. This one is the closest to a rum being aged in a cask and still retaining a rum flavor. The other 2 were like 1/2 wine 1/2rum and none of these are worthy of the $80 price. By the way, A tour of the distillery cost $120 with advance reservations required. WHAT? Bacardi cost $30 & that was a RIP off. I have no feelings for those who support such robbery.
Vanilj, rund. Inte så stark.
WoW… is the Description that comes to mind when I tasted the A(XV) NCCF. It is super smooth, taste does not linger but it is notable and reflects all the positive rating that has been spoken about this awesome Rum. It is worth noting that it is not sold everywhere in Panama… I found out about it. while staying in the Cobita Hotel/Spa in La Arena, Panama right next to Chitre, Panama. Anyway I bought the entire collection and my wife bought some for her clients as well. Loved it
Es un licor solo para conocedores y tiene una manera específica para ser disfrutado, hay que dejarlo reposar para verdaderamente disfrutar de todos sus matices de sabor!
We definitely loved this taster! Super smooth, great aroma... I will look for this to keep as a sipper
So I like this rum more than the Port Cask Finish, but far less than the Oloroso Cask Finish. For me this Cognac Cask Finish, is a little bit meh, if I’m being totally honest. It’s got some sweetness to it, and the notes of Cognac certainty come through, which are both two positives in my book, and go some way to satisfying my craving for all things sweet. However, on the flip side, I do feel this rum is far to harsh and possesses a weird aftertaste. In it’s defence though, I will concede that when mixed with Coca-Cola, it does become much improved. Mind you, however much coke I used, it still had that dodgy finish to it. Another major problem I have with this Ron Abuelo Rum, is that I immediately wanted and needed to compare it to the Plantation XO 20th Anniversary Rum, which I absolutely love. And for me the Ron Abuelo literally doesn’t compare, because the Plantation Cognac Finish is far sweeter and smoother, so a much better fit for someone like me, who likes their rums as mellow as possible, and the more sugary the better! Plus at £50, it’s £12 cheaper than the Abuelo.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Just below the Olorosa to me

This is my least favorite of the Abuelo XV's. My favorite is the Tawny, then the Oloroso, then this. But it's good, and to me it beats the Abuelo 12, though none of the Abuelo XV's match the Abuelo Centuria, imho.
Smells and tastes of cognac, spice, leather, oak, and cacao.
Again, a pretty good rum, but if you only try one Abuelo XV, I recommend their Tawny.
