La verdad la calificación lo pone más cerca del 9 que del 8 en nariz equibrado en maderas, en boca se nota el buen hacer ya que tiene fuerza y además no hay azúcares artificiales, sin embargo hay dulzor, es un buen ron, yo nunca lo desperdiciarla con refrescos y aunque por menos de 60€ que costó, tampoco repitiría los hay que me gustan mas por menos o lo mismo.

Rum se nevyrábí z melasy, ale z panenské šťávy cukrové třtiny. Zrát by měl 14 let v sudech po bourbonu a 1 rok v sudech po portském (zřejmě solerou).
Aroma: Karamel, med, ovocnost a travnaté tóny
Chuť: Zvláštně ovocná poté lehce kořenitá, sladká
Dozvuk: Koření, směs bonbónů a úplně nakonec rozinky
Sladkost: 3/3
Dosti se podobá XV Oloroso, ale je o dost sladší a kořenitější. 2. místo z trojice Abuelo XV.

As a port and rum drinker, i was highly anticipating.. and i have to say i cant make up my mind. Both tastes are there.. but the port seems a bit too present.
Need to let it rest a bit and give it another try

Here's a rum from Panama 🇵🇦 presented at 40%ABV. This Abuelo is a blend of rums averaging 14 years maturation and finished in a tawny port cask.
On the nose there's molasses, strawberry, honey, cherry, orange zest, raisin, honey, pepper, oak and it's sweet.
The palate is creamy, syrupy, vanilla and cherry cola.
The finish is long (surprising given the low ABV) with caramel, coffee, oak and walnut.
This rum has a lovely nose and is quite viscous for the ABV. Very syrupy but not artificially so - this would be a great rum to give to someone starting off in spirits or not familiar with rum - I think it would be a general crowd-pleaser: easy going, well made, sweet but with some complexity.

I tasted the three editions : Xeres, Tawny & Cognac and this one is my favorite. The nose, the oak is very present with the port that leaves no doubt about the finish of this rum. There are grape notes, plum, prune. Red fruits, candied cherry. More dry than the other one but great with a long and nice finish. The best of this special work from Abuelo.
