Grape, leather and wood. I love how the port shines through. Certainly smooth. A bit pricey if you drink often, however I will try the other two varietals of XV to compare and out of curiosity. This rum has stepped-up Panamanian rums for me. Enjoy because the bottle will be gone in no time.

Good rum. But I prefer the abuelo two oaks. Same price.

Best of the finish collection, sweet fruity taste but not overly sugary tastes authentic and of high quality long finish of port. Oily texture, sweetness is countered by the oak taste

Tasted at Laka Lono on 12/17/21. Now I really like this. Pours dark brown. Big aroma of plums, wine, fruit. Berries. Wow! This is good. Very wine-like. Lots of bitterness to the finish. Raisins, tobacco. Mellow ending.

Very similar to Abuelo Two Oaks and port wine barrels, they complemented it well, opened it, balanced the taste, made it softer and a sweeter. Very good finish for Two Oaks.

I admire the craftsmanship that is put in blending and creating this rum. The taste starts like a normal Abuelo Rum (which I like). Followed by the port / red wine flavors which is a bit too much to my liking. Therefore I would not buy this again.

Update: I’ve grown to like it and therefore updated the score. Still wouldn’t buy again but it’s definitely a nice rum to smell, taste and try.

This is a great rum. Great flavors, very smooth, nice finish. It has a little more body - some rums are watery compared to this one.

This is a very smooth rum. My favorite is Foursquare, but this rum is definitely in my top 5!

This rum which is aged at 15yrs has a nice flavor to it but at 15yrs old most rums don't require additional flavoring so I'm sceptical with the age. There's no way to tell it's 15yrs old except the printing on the label. I have found most 15yr old rums I've tried have a definite tell tale sign of the wood cask it sat in. This does not have that note! Now maybe 10 or 12 yrs max, maybe! Now, is it the port casking that inhibits those wood notes? At $80 a bottle I will not look any further. At $40-50 as other 15yr old rums go for I might give it another try. So I move on as that is my favorite ride with rum! It got a 7 because it was an interesting ride. If it was properly priced I would've given it more.
