I was reluctant to buy this one based upon all of these reviews, but after having been to Antigua just once, I owed it to myself to give it a try. It is very dry and apparently has no added sugar. The aroma and taste are next to nothing, but the after taste is slightly bitter. As usual, I let my sipping rums breathe for a while to remove the burn. At only $26, it is one of the cheapest dry rums that I have found. When this bottle is finally gone, I may miss it and could go looking for another one. I would not use it as a neat sipper, but it makes a fantastic rum and coke or served on the rocks. It is so neutral that it reminds me of the very good people that I met on the island along with some very bad ones.

Update: I have since found out that it has 15 gpl of added sugar, which is apparently the borderline between dry and sweet, so it is actually semi-dry. I have always considered dry rums as having less than 10 gpl of added sugar. So compared to one of my top rated aged rums being a 41 gpl sugar bomb, then no wonder this one tasted dry to me. By the way, flavored rums can range from 53 gpl to 99 gpl of added sugar.

And by the way, after six months with a half bottle remaining, it still tastes the same as the day that I opened it. However, it is rather boring as a sipper and there are many cheaper rums that make equally good rum and cokes. I would almost drop my rating down to a 6, but there is absolutely nothing offensive about this one. It also has no ill after effects whatsoever, so consider this one as a penalty free rum.

Morbido e rotondo con note di caffè, cacao e qualcosa di speziato/tannico

I've given up on trying different rums. I've tried enough to know what I like and stick with it. I drink Flor de Cana 7 because it's the best I can get in a 1.75 L bottle. This one is a s good as that but I can't buy it even at Total Wine so it earns a good rating based on my tasting, but it loses a little since I can't buy it.

Fine rum in a variety of classic cocktails, didn't stand out in a good or bad way. Not sure I'd buy it again just to prioritize more interesting things.

Long aftertaste, bananas, good candy snack after dinner.

Very acceptable mixing rum with lime and tonic. Very happy to find it in Sarasota !

So a 7 for me although I can understand some ratings a bit lower. As a few have mentioned this rum does seem a bit flat and depth is lacking a little but still I cannot find anything really bad to say. And for well under $30 it is priced fairly. Semi-sweet and a little dry nothing tastes artificial either. I am not disappointed.

This is a fantastic rum with at a ridiculously low price! It has a well balanced and smooth taste with vanilla and oak notes. A perfect rum for every day. Especially with this price (20 EUR).

It’s nothing extraordinary but it’s a great rum for what it is. A go to for either mixing with Coke or even neat. A very mild nose hints of oak and slight cinnamon. Not the smoothest sip but not harsh either. Light and warms the mouth. Notes of vanilla and oak on the sip.

Brings heavy flavor but never overwhelms. Remains consistently enjoyable from start of the bottle to the end. Great value for the price.
