Plantation Gran Anejo Guatemala & Belize

Okey rum overall with hints of several flavors as vanilla, tobacco, fruits. But for me its more simular to whiskey . I prefer more traditional plantation rum as doubble age dark. For mixning i would recommend regular coke, because with zero it feels sour.

Absolut fruchtiger Rum der in der Nase wie ein Vanille Obstkorb daher kommt. Sehr explosiv im Mund. Fruchtig frisch und sehr aromatisch. Lang anhaltender Abgang.

Eigenlijk een 7,5. Lekkere rum met een hint van vanille. Smaakvol en gebalanceerd.

Le plantation Guatemala et Belize a été pour moi une mystérieuse découverte. Après près d’une dizaine de jours d’appréciation, je n’arrivais toujours pas à cerner ce rhum, ses saveurs, ses expressions... Possédant une robe timidement dorée, le plantation Guatemala Belize manque de quelque chose. Bien qu’étant pas mal, il n’est pas franc dans l’affirmation de son être ! Venant du Guatemala, où il a été vieilli dans des fûts de bourbon, il a ensuite été amené en France pour un vieillissement en fûts de cognac. Je pense que ce procédé a, en quelque sorte, dénaturé ce rhum, faisant en sorte que l’amateur que je suis, ait du mal à cerner son identité. C’est un peu dommage, parce que le potentiel est bien là. Le procédé de maturation a fait en sorte qu’il perde vraiment en authenticité. C’est tout un art de faire un rapprochement entre du rhum, du bourbon et du cognac, tout en conservant la prestance du rhum. Pour ma part, l’artisan a manqué de magie sur ce coup, même si je suis l’un des fervents admirateurs des produits de la maison Ferrand. Pour cette raison, j’accorde la note 6.

En god rom, men eftersmagen kunne godt have været bedre. Derfor kun 7.

Plantation has rich flavour, maybe to sweet sometimes, but its really worth every penny that you pay for it. I bought it with hope that it will be similar to XO, maybe less funky, and exactly that happened.

Tasty pineapple, vanilla and caramel flavours. Very smooth

The nose is strong and pleasant, with grapefruit and other citrus fruits, raisins, honey and a touch of oak, the taste is uncomplicated, spicy, with a bit af an alcohol bite, the hint of bitterness at the end is tamed with added sugar (16g/l), the after tasteste is long and bitter sweet. Definitely more rummy, with less sweet taste profile and overall significantly better than Plantation Barbados Grande Reserve, which I happened to buy togehter, but it badly needs aging and there are better rums to buy in this price range.

Felt it had a really earthy aftertaste...might apoeal to whiskey fans who like a Laphroaig but not for me.
