El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum

El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year

Guyana | Aged | 43% ABV

El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum is crafted from 15 to 25 year old rums that are then blended and married together in bourbon oak casks. Prior to blending the original batches are distilled using 4 unique stills - the Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills, the Port Mourant double wooden pot still, and the Versailles single wooden pot still.

The bottle of El Dorado Special Reserve 15-year was inspired by the the old hand-blown flasks used by sugar planters on the banks of the Demerara river.

For the price, there are far superior rums. Diplomatico Exclusiva Reserva comes to mind. Superior at half the price.

This rum tastes differently to me almost each time i drink it. Once it feels very much like rum, another time almost like cogac, then it really does remind whisky to me. Once i'am not impressed, other time i find myself loving it. Its not too sweet, bit harsh at first, aromas are very mellow and fruity. Aftertaste feels like cognac. Very complex rum, longer aftertaste, not boring at all. I love the smell of glass even many hours after drinking. This is one of those choices, where you need whole bottle to really know it...

Looks good, smells good. Tastes FANTASTIC. Reminds me of a xo diplomatico 20 yo. But not quite as good. Still It is one of the top choices for me this one.

This is a really tasteful Rom that I can recommended to Rom-newbies as myself as it's very price price worthy

I feel like when one of my friends asks me where to go after they are done with Sailor Jerry's and Captain M and are looking for a new level of rum, this is my go to. It's usually priced very well and offers a very different look to the younger offerings.

Sweet up front, oaky, dried fruit, easy drinker. I would buy again.

I know a lot of reviewers like sipping this on the rocks but after having..and keeping the 21 year old El Dorado...I've gotta mix this with a dash of tonic to really enjoy it. Best analogy I can give is the 15 year old is like flying Business Class where the 21 year old is First Class all the way.

I recently bought myself the little sample pack with the 12, 15 and 21 yo el dorado.
I found this the best one.
But ! if i look at the prices of big bottles i see that this one is twice the price of the 15 yo.
So if (and this will happen) i buy a full bottle, it will be the 15.
they are all very good if you ask me.

This is a sweet rum; very flavorful, good price points. I love sipping on the 15 year old brand.

Just drank the 21 year old. Read a review that preferred the 15 year old and I agree. The 15 year old doesn't have as strong taste of alcohol and has a fuller body than the 21. Good stuff!
