El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum is crafted from 15 to 25 year old rums that are then blended and married together in bourbon oak casks. Prior to blending the original batches are distilled using 4 unique stills - the Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills, the Port Mourant double wooden pot still, and the Versailles single wooden pot still.
The bottle of El Dorado Special Reserve 15-year was inspired by the the old hand-blown flasks used by sugar planters on the banks of the Demerara river.

This probably the best rum available in the $40-$50 class. A go-to favorite for sipping.
Heerlijk om rustig te drinken en nog betaalbaar ook. Lekker zacht, zoet en toch alle diepere smaken.
I purchased this on the recommendation of a friend. He knows my taste in rum, and promised I would like it. I do, very much! I drink my rums straight, no ice, no mixing. This rum has a nice little bite to it, not too sweet, warm and pleasant, with a long lingering taste. Very, very nice.
At the moment, this Rum just feels to have everything i like. Smooth but still has a punch to it, sweet but no too sweet and a great cocktail of aroma. A few drops in a big cognac glass and will bring you directly to the Carribean sea.
Sweet caramel after taste. Smoothes it down nicely. A good sipper for desert.
Smooth as can be while still full flavored. Great sipping rum
Nice rum to have straight up. Nice balanced flavors
The first thing I noticed after pouring this over ice was the colour. Very deep honey that looks great in my favorite sipping glass. The aroma is subdued and leaves you guessing what is to come. The flavour is a combination of a fine balance of alchohol, caramel and a small hint of sweetness for an aftertaste. Will definitely serve this to good friends that enjoy a good rum.
It is one of the best choices I've made so far because it is a very tasty rum if you want to drink it neat but also it gives a very good flavour to a Cuba Libre.
Full nose packed with dark coffee, candied orange, almonds, dark chocolate...

Has more oak and chocolate notes.
"It is initially very sweet, apples, bananas and rum soaked raisins but there are also some bittersweet plum like notes. The finish is spicy and fruity and long lasting."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Tons of licorice. A woodiness to it as well. Some banana going on as well. But mainly deep rich flavors. A very sophisticated type of taste to this one.
