There is not much to say here. Bottled 59% full proof lets you choose how straight or thinned out you like it. Pot and Column blend plus 11 years bourbon barrel aging gives full depth of flavors and nose. Tropical fruits, black cherries and almonds, tobacco, chocolate, slight hints of funk.... it's all in there. No added sugar and flavors. Only the basic process of distilling and aging and then bottled at cask strength!! Priced right too. This is what rum is. Not some watered down flavored overly sweet easy and smooth piss.
True pure Bajan rum. If thats what you are looking for than you simply can not go wrong here.

When first opened I got an aroma that was reminiscent of varnish but as it has been open a while that has dissipated and given way to some dark fruit and significant heat on the finish.

59% ABV will put hair on your chest, make no mistake. This rum is astringent and slightly medicinal on the nose, but it also has some sweet, dried fruit. The taste is perhaps more dried fruit and spices, but it's really hard to tell because of the intensity. And that may be the main shortcoming of this rum. It's just too concentrated. There is no subtle nuance here whatsoever, just brute force--and alcohol burn. I'm glad I tried it, and I may try other Full Proof rums from Foursquare in the future, but I won't be buying this particular one again. I don't dislike it; I just don't love it the way I love other Foursquare rums.

Good rum!! You have to put ice in the rum to get the alcohol burn of. After that it is a really good sipping rum. Be carefull this one goes to your head after a glass or 2!

This rum has amazing caramel/vanilla palate with a strong kick to finish the overall round taste. It is your celebratory rum. Not an everyday rum in my book but defenitly one to enjoy with your rum conoseur friends.

Found a bottle in Brooklyn while visiting my son. Thought I'd spend the big bucks and see what the big whoop was all about. Disclaimer, I'm a smooth slightly sweet rum lover. This ain't that.

The nose is simply bizarre. I'm a wine lover, and it reminds me of a German Auslese. Sweet, spicy and complex. I've never smelled a rum like it before.

Taste is spicy, leather (I get that description now), tannic and slightly alcoholic, a touch of sweetness and a
loooong spicy finish.

I have to say that at first I didn't love this, but I'm really warming up to it. It's somewhat like a big peaty single malt scotch, in that I'm enjoying the complexity more than actually rum its self. Science vs. pleasure.

At any rate, I'd give it an 8.5 if I could...it's a REALLY well made rum.

Definitely one of my favourite with much complexity. It reaches a point where I'm not able to fully describe it's amazing flavour.

Aroma of salted caramel pop corn. After breathing for a minute to two, it tends to be more to be more oaky and fruity with notes of tropical fruits; coconut husk, coconut flesh, banana.

Complexity of creamy dark chocolate with dried coconut, fruitiness and sourness of fresh cherry wrapped with spiciness of cinnamon once sipped.

Finishing was the bomb. Fresh cut sawdust and cedar wood with cherries. Warm gingery after feel which goes very well with the oakiness.

A bit too much bite for me. Not bad but place others much higher on my list.

This comes highly recommended by a lot of enthusiasts, so I was looking forward to trying it. I didn't notice the ABV on the label, however, and find the burn of the over-proof strength (59% ABV) was a bit much for me.

Poured neat, it has a nice aroma of apples and honey with a hint of licorice. On the first sip, the strength hits your tongue with a lot of flavor, but a bit of burn. It leaves behind the flavors of the bourbon and oak, with that hint of licorice. It's better on ice, where you can pick up a bit more oak and honey.

If you like over-proofs, this is a good one, but if you tend to like sweeter or smoother rums, you may want to wait before jumping in.
