This ED 25y is simply stunning. A truely amazing spirit with rich flavours and complexity, well balanced all the way. Every glas puts a smile on your face and adds the special something to an evening.
Definitely a must-try and highlight for every cabinet.
Well over 1,800 aged dark rums enjoyed and El Dorado 25 year is easily on my Top 10 list. It is sublime, super smooth, like molten chocolate, no burn at all and contains plenty of amazing flavors. I tried this amazing rum the first time at the Marriott hotel in Georgetown Guyana.

Exceptionnal and slightly too expensive.
Its a great rum that should be sipped while listening to Jazz.
It's a rich yet subtle, complex and well balanced.
Very few rums I've experienced give me as much pleasure as this bottle of El Dorado 25 Years Old. The rum is soft, subtle, with a rich dark caramel nose, oaken spice, nuts, dried fruit, well.... grab a bottle already. So what if it's a few dollars. The best in life costs extra.
First of all, what a stunning bottle that is. Looks good where ever you put it 😉
It's an expensive bottle of rum, but worth every penny.
The color is fantastic, and the rum is full of life and just melts on your tongue.
Its fruity and dry. I can taste vanilla, oak, raisin and tobacco. Of course its diffrent from one man to another 😀
The price of this one hurts still to this day, but I can't complain about the flavor, the impact of pulling out this bottle, the completeness it gives my soul... It's rich and delicious with heavy raisin sweetness at the start, ending clean and dry. Smooth and extremely dark. Yes there is still a touch of buyer's regret, but only because the happiness it gives it similar to the joy from it's less expensive brethren of the El Dorado line...
Why sweeten this kind of a product to obscurity? All one tastes is sugar. It destroys the rum - and we know from independent bottlers that Demerara CAN be good. Overpriced nonsense.
I enjoy rums with raisin and date taste, this one is one big raisin explosion. It is a bit too sweet, which is alright in my book, but it might put off some people.
Fantastisk rom. Måske ikke helt pengene hver. Kan finde noget lige så godt til billigere penge
I was fortunate to taste this rum a handful of times, and find it truly at the top of the tops. Complex, smooth, full, balanced and... tasty. When I allowed a friend to try it (once) he said "I never knew rum could be like that."
Didn't buy the bottle but found some at a tasting bar. Honey-toffee clean and no burn. Probably my favourite tasting rum however prohibitively expensive.
Fantastic rum, smooth from beginning to end. Simply the best I've ever tasted.
Excellent in many ways with mild/soft tastes and flavors. IMO not significantly better than the 21 year to warrant the $350/300% increase in price. I'm going to try them side-by-side and update ratings; maybe both are 10's.
Appearance: Medium Amber
Aroma: Very mild old oak, like well-used wine barrels. Can't detect much brown sugar, caramel, or molasses
Taste: Slightly bitter; less bitter than the 21 yr. and less sweet
Flavor: Old oak gives way to light brown sugar, almost white sugar syrup. Left me wanting stronger brown/golden sugar flavor.
Texture: Light body, sting of alcohol
Finish: Medium length, light brown sugar syrup
Tried this in Liverpool and it was amazing! Right at the top with Diplimatico single vintage 2000.
So i finally found a bar in miami (cubaocho) that serves the glass of this for $30 so I didn’t have to gamble $500 for a bottle I hadn’t tasted. And yeah was as good as advertised extremely smooth and complex, only reason I give it a 9 is because I actually like the slight burn el dorado 15y/o gives that both 21 and 25 are missing. In my book you can have an extremely polished/aged rum and still have you know it’s freakin rum (look at abuelo centuria or appleton joy)
Amazing nose & exquisite palate! Extremely smooth but expected at that price point. If you can afford it, it is a must have in your collection. It is a treat!
Super lækker rom som alle burde smage, godt nok i den dyre ende. Smagte den på en rommesse
This rum is excellent and meets all my personal criteria, but it's not significantly better than the 21 year El Dorado. Again, it's very good, I'm just not sure how to justify the price point when compared to the larger El Dorado family. That said there is nothing negative to say about the rum it'self. The distillery has been doing this a very long time and it shows.
I enjoyed this rum. It perfectly fits to my taste. One bottle given to my very good friend from Taiwan, so I do believe he will enjoy, as well.
...ya gotta get this smooth powerful, flavor bomb. A slight smoked essence passes over the vanilla....
I've only tasted this once, but I fell in love with it. Unfortunately, I can't afford a bottle right now, but it sure is on my wishlist. Perfection.
Kanske ändrar mig i framtiden.
Am avut ocazia sa degust putin din acest rom la Festivalul de la Berlin si pot spune ca este in top 10 cele mai bune de pana acum. Am descoperit multe arome iar aftertaste-ul este spectaculos! Straight up sau on the rocks!
It is a fine rum for sure, enjoyed best whilst sipping and savoring the price.
a little over flavored with peanuts , raisin and tobacco,
A fine bottle but for my pallet a little too rubbery.
8/10
