Foursquare 2004 Zinfandel Cask Blend 11-Year

This is an outstanding contribution to rum from Foursquare. This is my first foray into their offerings and this landed at the top of my rums. Lacks the over sweet taste from many competitors but definitely not lacking in flavor and aroma. Grab yourself a bottle and enjoy.

This rum has the most delicious nose. Butterscotch, salted caramel.

This rum is a dream to sip. I can't believe there is no added sugar. The most amazing rum I've ever had.

Le nez est gras et fait ressortir principalement du beurre accompagné de caramel. Ça sent la pâtisserie, c’est gourmand mais ça peu être écœurant aussi, en tout cas je ne m’attendais pas à ça…
C’est doux en bouche, le caramel est toujours présent et une note boisée fait son apparition ainsi que de la coco.
La fin de bouche reste boisée mais ne parvient pas à faire oublier cette sensation de caramel au beurre.
Il vaut mieux être averti, ce rhum est loin de ce qu’on a l’habitude de boire en provenance de la Barbade. Il comblera ceux qui préfèrent les rhums faciles à boire, mais si vous préférez la complexité, passez votre tour.

What do we have here then? To be honest I don't know yet. It takes me longer to get used to the drier rums, as it did with Seale's 10 and Clement Agricole. The Zinfandel is apparent even to a novice, but I'll need a lot more time nosing this until I discover more as I did with Seale's. Tbc.......

I'm now getting the Seale's 10 flowery bouquet. Tastes better too. These rums are a refreshing change from the smoother, sweeter rums, when you're in the mood for something a bit more lively, fresher, The Zinfandel notes really add to the curiosity. I feel like I'll have to drink the whole bottle before I start getting to know it properly. Not tonight though!

nose -- fruity, hint of wine cask ( I happen to own two ). cream, vanilla,

palate -- balanced candy sweetness and bitterness. clean, fresh,

This is one of the interesting rums, where all the flavours are 100% natural
Surprisingly sweet without added sugar. Strong vanilla and marzipan flavour.

Rum molto morbido ed equilibrato con un gusto caramelloso per niente fastidioso. Anche se non è il mio genere preferito devo ammettere che è di ottima qualità.

Beautiful rum with butterscotch,caramel, toffee and coffe aroma and some fruity notes.In mouth, the pastry take the lead with lot of fruits, vanilla and oaky notes and slightly bitter. Long aftertaste. Never taste that before, very interesting.
