This is a perfect bulk rum that a always have in my tikibar/sauna.
What really pushes my rating is the price tag. It's a really good-bang-for-buck-bottle and it's very common to find. The flavour profile is good but not amazing. I really dont sip this but use it for cocktails.
Far from the worst option out there but not remarkable either. I love barbados rum. Very pleasant in a mix but I wouldn’t use it as a sipper.
A day to day rum. To enjoy as it is or to have in a pina colada or with coke. It grow on you and is priceworthy
Tropcal fruits, vanilla and coconut. My second favourite Plantation rum.
A good rum with nice colour.
Interesting and balanced to the nose. Not alcoholic, with floral and predominat fruit tones.
Smooth and easy going to the mouth, warm experience, cask wood and flavours, and smooth fruity notes. Definitively it has some complexity for a young rum.
However the aftertaste is limited and poor, not lasting.
At the end of the day is a good choise for the money, especially you think that the plantation original dark is too sweet for you.
Recommended to everyone who want to try a decent rum for sipping and mixing without spending a lot.
Todella makea. Kaikinpuolin hyvä rommi. Toimii 👍..
Thought this one was quite similiar with the original dark
Classical rum feel. A little bit of plum or riped/rotten fruit taste.
Semi sweet with alcohol aftertaste, artificial spicy aftertone.
Average, which will not worsen mood, but will dissapoint rum enthusiast
Classic "cabin fever" rum.
Drank a bottle in solitude, an okay experience.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

The Plantation Barbados Grand Reserva is a blend of molasses rums that were stored for about 5 years. There is also the Grand Reserva 5 years. I had several bottles of both and there is hardly any difference. The rum is not ideal for sipping, as in addition to its pleasant sweet caramel note with slightly fruity tones such as orange, it also has a clearly perceptible sharpness and the alcohol seems too present while drinking. For mixing cocktails or simply in cola, the rum is absolutely top. Here it unfolds really well. One of the best rums that i have used for mixing. It makes some competition for Havana Club.
I don't really rate rums for mixing, as I find it difficult to rate them. The Grand Reserva from Plantation can also be drunk pure without many problems if you don't want or can't spend much money. For less than 20 euros, it is clearly preferable to all competitors in this price range, such as Bacardi and Co.
