Klasika plantážňík, velmi univerzální rum který nemůže nikoho urazit. Tahle firma má skvěle zvladnutou jemnost. Neměl sem od nich nic co by aspoň trochu koplo . Jinak 6,5 v pohodě, 7 by bylo moc.
This rum is a great value for the price here in Ontario, Canada. I'm fairly certain this one gets the full Plantation "dosage" treatment and it is quite sweet. But there are some nice flavours here. Plenty of vanilla, cinnamon, a bit of pineapple. It works on the rocks but is probably best suited for use in cocktails. Just be aware that you may have to reduce the amount of simple syrup to keep your cocktail from being oversweet.
Strong vanilla, slightly sweet with a smoky aroma. Smooth, not very rich taste.
Below 30 Euros - mild and tasty - chinemon? Will buy again
The price is pretty good and it has a bit of burn on the way down but not as bad as some of higher price. I’d like to try an older more refined rum from this brand. Interesting!
Plantation always has space in my cupboard. This was not harsh, has a great lingering second wave.
Opened this on the same evening as the Barbados 5 year. Couldn't really figure out the difference from the labels, but this has way less nose and is a shade lighter. Not much wrong with the taste, but it is shorter lasting than the 5 year.
Very smooth sipping rum. Nice aroma. Easy drinking
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

After an escapade with the fantastic El Dorado line, I was doubtful there were rums that could match them (El Dorado) in cost-to-quality. However, I decided to give this Plantation a go because I heard great things about its more expensive counterparts, and am happy that I did!
As far as the taste goes, it's pleasantly light and extremely approachable--much like what Japanese whiskey is to its respective genre. I catch mild hints of lemon, cinnamon and tropical fruits on both the nose and palate. It's very smooth going down. Flavor does dissipate instantly once swallowed, which I find interesting.
Overall, Plantation Grande Reserve is better than the El Dorado 5-Year, and about on par with the 8-Year as the best rum in its price bracket. Great sipper, great mixer, and should appeal to both the experienced and inexperienced rum drinker.
