I like all the El Dorado series. This is the best. A tad bit pricey. But well worth it.
Mixed with Coca-cola, twist of lime.
I love Myer's Rum. Also like Sailor Jerry's. But it's a bit strong.
El Dorado and Myer's, all time best. Just right amount of sweetness.

I have purposely stayed away from El Dorado products as they are known to be heavily sugared. The El Dorado 8 yr, however, caught my attention as a result of the lower GPL as well as the reviews on this site. This offering set me back $31 CAD (a bargain in my area) and the vanilla, caramel and oak flavours were rather pleasant albeit a bit sweet and the aftertaste lasted for some time. ED8 will not be my next "Go To" Rum but it is a great value and a nice change from dry Rums.

Ikke en rom jeg behøves at have i skabet igen. Ok men ikke en lækker hygge rom.
But I wanted rum, not whiskey. This is barely suggestive of rum.

Keeping it simple , I think i like the 8 year better then the 12
Pick it up very smooth very drinkable
Going to give it another go to see if it still stands up to my 7 rating
Yah I’ll still say this is a 7 but as for being better then the 12 I change my mind on that one the 12 is a better rum then this bit both are good offerings from El Dorado

Θα πει κάποιος (έξυπνος) .... " Δεν είναι σαν το δωδεκάρι" ...... - Τι λες ρε μεγάλε ? Σοβαρή διαπίστωση !!!!! Ένα τίμιο ρούμι με τίμια τιμή (23€) και σε όλα λίγο πιο κάτω από το δωδεκάρι ..... Του μοιάζει όμως και αυτό είναι το τίμιο της υπόθεσης ...... Δυνατό άρωμα που κρατάει στο ποτήρι ακόμα και όταν τελειώσει το ποτό ...... Γεύση και επίγευση σε (αισθητά) μικρότερες εντάσεις από το mainstream 12 ...... Από τις καλλίτερες επιλογές σε αυτήν την τιμή ....
* Το κακό είναι ότι πρέπει να κάνω "κράτει" για να προλάβει να δοκιμάσει και ο Κώστας !!!!!!

Not horrible by any means, but for the small price difference go up to the 12. You won't regret it. The 12 is much more complex and a great sipper. This just doesn't compare even though it isn't a horrible rum.

I consider this one to be one of my most favourite rums. The intense tones of dark chocolate are why I always like to return to this rum.
And have I mentioned the price?

I love both sweet and dry rums and have been searching for a rum that has a good balance of the two. El Dorado 8 is the closest thing I've found so far and I'm impressed with the quality and great value of this rum. It has a lot of the same flavors as the 15 year but without being too sweet and syrupy, then it's got some tobacco and tea like flavors of its own. It's excellent try it! Update: great value rum that has the classic funk of what I now understand as Demerara style, much like Pusser's blue label. I think this is better than Pusser's as it seems smoother with great buttery toffee flavor. Update 3: still good, a little less smooth than I recall. Excelllent mixed w ginger ale.
