After all the reviews I read, I expected a very sweet rum, almost a liqueur. It's not like that. It's a kind of sweet rum, that's for sure. However, it has a nice balance and good rum quality in it. Qualitatively, I rate it very well and even better when we take into account the price shelf. If you like sweet rums and you don't know them yet and are wondering about them, then there's nothing to think about. I recommend.

You just can't beat this rum for the price. I've tried numerous rums at various price ranges and this one stands up with rum that's twice the price. I just don't see how you can go wrong with this in your stockpile.

It has a great taste and a smooth finish just like zacapa 23. If i could rate it with 8.5 or 8.7 i would. Its a must have in your cabinet

I was very surprised by how smooth and rich in flavor this was. Warm on the tongue and so smooth going down. Nice balanced sweetness. A little vanilla note and possibly chocolate, but perhaps it was just the subtle sweetness. It is almost buttery in my mouth. A real treat for sure.
Als Einsteiger für mich bisher der beste Rum den ich probiert habe, unglaublich mild. Faszinierender Geschmack nach Toffee, oder auch dunkler Schokolade.
Einfach klasse.

It is one of those rums that you definitly want to go back and drink it again. I bought this botlle and I am sure I will repeat this purchace someday. Great rich taste, fruits and some wodden flavour, one of better rums I have tasted, as for flaws it is litlle bit too sweet in my opninion.
Final verdict: Maybe some day I will give it another shot
Very good classic taste. Chocolate and vanilla, but smokey. Probably the best for this price.
Honig, Vanille, Weich, warm, süß, Mandel/Karamell, Trop. Früchte, Schoko, orange

i have never seen it as Botucal.. but it looks exactly as Diplomatico..
Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva is a must have Rum in your shelf and the price is excelent..

Many thanks to Joola69 for giving me a bottle as part of a rum exchange. This tastes somewhat similar to the Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva, but I prefer that one.
Like the Diplomatico, this smells and tastes of toffee, cacao, vanilla, gingerbread, oak, and molasses. Very smooth. But this is dryer than the Diplomatico, which may be good for some, but I prefer the sweeter version.
