Great flavor, smooth, little bite. Definitely my favorite light rum I've had.
This is a flavorful white rum, great to mix cocktails with such as the daiquiri.
Perfect for mixing which it was made for. So...mission accomplished :) Very smooth for a rum that young, nice hints of vanilla and coconut.
After tasting it I drank it with tonic, lemon and a sprig of thyme. It was a nice alternative for gin and tonic.
Better than bacardi for your mixed drinks, good in tiki cocktails
This is a decent white rum, has a strong initial blast, fairly smooth going down, faint vanilla, light fruit, a bit of sugary sweetness detected in finish. Fairy cheap, sweeter, less dry, and harsher than Matusalem Platino, which I would recommend over this.
I keep this on hand at all times. Sweet and yummy. Rum is my drink of choice, but I have not yet learned to review and distinguish all the nuances and subtleties. I just know what I like. And I like this one very much. I have tried nearly every El Dorado rum that I have had the opportunity to purchase. I actually like this a little better than the six year Silver. Much better than the Superior White.
Love this on its own on ice, but if you like to mix it can be difficult as it has too much character for most conventional rum cocktails. Mixing with coconut water is best, but I usually have it with a squeeze of lime and ice.
I'm a big fan of this one for mixing daiquiris and other cocktails that call for a light rum. It's light and fruity and it reminds me of vanilla, bananas, coconut and other pleasant tropical flavors. Not an especially complex rum but a bargain and what it does it does very well.
Nice aged white (actually filtered) rum. A pleasant fruitiness in nose and taste and a sugar coated aftertaste, but not to sweet. Comparable to Plantation 3 stars (which ramains the clear favourite).
Light and tasty. 3 years old, you can see the differences with not aged white rum. À must in your bar for mixing.
Mijn favoriete witte rum momenteel. Lekker zacht. En nog wat van die El Dorado smaak ook.
I think it is one of the best light rum I know. Great for populars rum cocktail like Pina Colada, ti punch, Cuba Libre... More taste and more smooth than most of competitive product. I believe is underestimate especially at this price.
Exelente, intenso, lleno de sabores, uno de los mejores rones blancos que he probado.
Usually the best you can hope for from a white rum is for it to be smooth and not taste like gasoline. There are a few that manage to have some flavor too, such as Matusalem Platino and this one.
N- Grassy, creamy smoke vanilla with subtle wood dust, also pine and mint. For fairness this is not crafted for nosing anyway, but it smells right with clean and purity. (85/19)
P- Medium full with coal, balanced of light sweetness with spicy notes. Still pleasant to sip as sometimes white rum tend to get a wee 'industrial' but not with this one. Restrained note of cedar, light tobacco, orange peel and coconut. (86/20)
F- Medium, pine, mellow spirit with fine body, relaxing, tropical and breezy. Quite enjoyable even at neat. (86/20)

Nice one where a light demerara rum is requested - 5.5/10
The same as El Dorado Superior White. Not bad, but a bit stale and not as refreshing as what I like about a white rum. Too nutty.
After letting my first ounce breathe in a snifter for about 10 minutes or so, that initial burn on the aroma and going down the pipe is gone. What you have after that is very faint hints of coconut, chocolate, and vanilla, but not enough to rival those from Vizcaya Cristal. So there was no need to do side by side taste testing against my top three white rums all rated as a 7. I also rate this a tad better than Cruzan Light, but at another $7 over Cruzan and having to drive another 25 miles one way to replace this entry level El Dorado, I seriously doubt that I would buy it again. It is still much more readily available and cheaper than Vizcaya Cristal, which is it's closest comparison.
Aged white rum with tastes of chocolate and coconut.
A decent mixer for classic rum cocktails and tiki drinks. Comparable to Caña Brava with a great pedigree.
This is a go to Demarara white rum for mixing quality cocktails. No need to drink this as a stand alone rum it is simply not its strength or purpose. Outstanding daiquiri rum especially if it is flanked by a splash of Lemon Hart 151 or Plantation OFTD for example. All in all for the money and the flavour, ElDo 3-year ranks as one of the most useful white rums out there.
It's nice and dry, but I get quite a lot of alcohol on the nose, and very little fruit. Was mixing Daiquiris for guests, so wasn't able to let it sit and re-taste. At around $20, it's a fine white mixer—infinitely better than what is offered by the bigger brands. But I can't say it's much better than the FdC 4 Extra Dry, which is simply a better value (at least in my area).
That said, it's definitely worth a try, and if your options are limited, this is a much better choice than most, and I imagine a noticeable step-up from ED's Superior White (which I haven't tasted, and am in no hurry to).
