Appleton Estate 12-Year Rum is a blend of several rums aged between 12 and 18 years in American oak barrels after being distilled using small-batch copper pot stills.
The rum is produced on the Appleton Estate, which sits in the Nassau Valley in Jamaica. The estate’s origins date back as far as 1655 when the English overthrew the Spanish to rule the island and Frances Dickinson, grandfather of the distillery’s founders, received the land as a reward for his role in the overthrow.

Zadne prekvapeni. Citrusova vune, celkem drsny a ne moc prijemny zezacatku, po chvilce ve sklence se trochu zlepsi.
Not a bad one, obviously the older ones are a bit tastier.
Personally prefer more fruity tones, but even in comparison with other oaky rums this will not blow your mind. 1 point extra for very fair price.
I like its dark colour however I can't say the same about its aroma. I just don't smell anything in it. Well the taste is significantly better than the aroma - caramel and some nuts. The taste is full with and has a decent finish. For me it is an average rum (well I expected a more complex taste and aroma from a 12yo - without knowing it I'd guess this rum is 7-9yo). It could be good sipping if you don't have much experience with rums and also a good introduction to 12yo rums but nothing more.
A interesting rum in my opinion, nose is very sweet . The taste is a rollercoster starts sweet and goes quite fast to being strong and spicy
Smells okay, taste okay but i’m missing a bit of sweetness
Bought it because it seemed good value, based on its ratings and because it was measured on different websites for added sugar and it had none. Tastes good but not great. Wouldn't use it as a gift or when I have guests but perfect for a glass after a long day.
I like the nose and initial taste with a nice oaky and almost smokey flavor profile, and there is some other things going on, but it all faded pretty quick to me. So its ALMOST very good as a sipper, but doesn't have the staying power for me. But its good as a mixer in certain drinks. Maybe I have to try a different bottle as my experience with it was not like most of the descriptions and reviews I've seen.

The rum offers a lot of smoky spiced oak flavour.
"A nice note of cocoa and a little hint of vanilla. The rum is smooth yet spicy offering a nice kick. The finish is long and complex leaving a lot of flavour behind to savour."

The Appleton Estate Rum is (in my opinion) neither fish nor fowl- It self advertises as "the best Jamaica offers" yet doesn't present itself as a Notable "on the rocks" or "Straight up" drink. Perhaps the older variations have a more impressive taste to them. For me, it's too raw-
